Hi,

Just wondering how much I should charge a customer. He wants a few hundred pet products photographing, and supplying on cd. Then each month he wants a leaflet designing and special offers put on and to be sent proofs to get printed.

How much do you think i should charge for taking the photos & designing the leaflet?

thanks
Jay

is this you first time of doing product shots or are you an experienced photographer?

not really being an expert but from advice heard and general common sense i would start off with quite a low price and DO a GOOD JOB. Then he may tell other people and hey presto more jobs. then steadily increase you price until you have too many orders to cope and you have to quite your job.

There you go,

did you apporach them or did they apporach you?

There's something to be said for not charging too much, but don't go too far the other way, you need to make a decent profit from it. There are professional photographers organisations on the web which have pricing guidelines, search these forums for links of which there are a few I think.

Charge £50 per hour and £30 for every image put on CD. Dont know about the leaflet cost though.
