Hi,
Just curious as to how much film people get through here, ie put a roll of film through once a month or every week etc, also wondered what sort of budget you work with for film.

I imagine colour film is not used too much due to costs, but even doing B&W can soon add up...

About one or two rollls a week. Mainly black and white, sometimes colour and usually 120 size with some 35mm.

I do my own black and white which is actually very cheap to do but I don't consider colour expensive either.

Steve.

God knows

I shoot in gluts, might shoot 5 rolls in a day for a week and then nothing for the rest of the month, or slow burn a frame here, a frame there, 2 rolls in a month.
Whatever, its a right pick and choose job, not because of expense, but because things are rarely worth speculation shooting.
I'm not shooting much b/w at all, I have 4 rolls of slide ready for developing, the earliest being a month old, I'm waiting for roll 5 to finish before I develop them all at once, which could be tomorrow or.....May...

No budget (it's never been my strong point) but I only really shoot when there is a point to it, something I REALLY want to shoot. I've never been someone who shoots all the time for the sake of it even with digital I'm the same.

i dont budget myself. But then again, its really got to be worth loading a darkslide to shoot something. Some days i can shoot 10 sheets, then another shoot 1 if I'm lucky. Recently i have shot off a little more, though i think i may start and slow down a little now making sure i get a box of 10 sheets back with at least 7 usable slides

at the moment i'm shooting around 20 5x4 b&w a week with around 5 rolls of 120 in the same time frame, but will slow down in a few weeks once this project is finished

I tend to go in bouts of shooting loads followed by not very much.

On a serious days togging I can easily get through 10 rolls of 120, both colour and B&W. I'm going on a workshop with Lee Frost at the end of Feb for 3 days shooting and I'm planning on taking about 40 rolls of 120 with maybe 10 rolls of 135. I don't envisage using all the 135 but I doubt I'll bring much 120 back if the weather is useful - note to self, order film before Monday:rules:

Depends really.

In Scotland I got through 7 sheets of Velvia 50, 8 of Velvia 100F, 8 of Provia and around 24 of Adox. So nearly 50 frames of 5x4. Plus a roll of Neopan 1600 and 2 of Acros in 35mm.

Normally though, I tend to go through stages of shooting a bulk load. Depends on weather and work mostly as I almost exclusively shoot landscapes now.

A good average would be 4 or 5 sheets of LF and a roll of 35mm a week.

Well today i ended up running through 1 roll HP5 (120),1 roll of Fuji Pro160S (120), 1 roll Neopan 400, 2 rolls superia 200 and 1 of Neopan 400CN
