My 40D have 2 very bad batteries, and need replacement. The one battery is original, and the other one is fake. Both have been in use a lot the last 4 years.

So, how much difference is it on fake ebay-ones, fake more expensive, and the real deal from Canon? Anyone tryed to test cheap vs expensive?

Well, first thing is they are probably not 'fake' they are 3rd party, ie not original but made by a different company as aftermarket items.
Second, I have been using 3rd party batteries in my DSLRs for several years and have yet to find much, if any, difference. My batteries of choice are the Duracell brand, which I get from Amazon, THIS one. Should be able to get them where you are.
They certainly last as long (in camera) as the original, and so far (I have had one for 2 years) are as good longevity wise as original.
Oh, and they are a fraction of the cost of Canon batteries and come with 3 year warranty!

I've had a couple of batteries from 7Dayshop, much cheaper and they perform great in my 40D.

if the battery you mention is a third party one but lable as "Canon" then thats fake otherwise is a third party after market battery .......

The OP says he has had them both (a Canon orig and a nother) if it's lasted 4 years I doubt it's a 'fake' they will not last that long! I speak from experience!
