I have just passed One Hundred Thousand pictures online. Since 2004

Every single picture for sale as a 7x5 at £3 and indeed I sell pics from yrs ago... I find footballers or other people in the p-ics arn't interested at the time.. but when they stop playing for example.. come along and buy .. Or they see a recent set and look back at older ones to find themselves..
 
Out of interest, if you have 100,000 "keepers", how many shots do you reckon you took over that same period?

Good grief I wouldnt like to guess...

early yrs I didnt take as many and put them online anyways.. better keeper rate but poorer pictures.. however they do tell a story so are still there... My website started out as a poor mans match of the day for non league football :)

Middle years more keepers as i got better

Current yrs I take less pictures however I ahve become far more selective and a lot of good pictures end up in the bin.. for example a football match and i have a perfect picture of player A in a tackle for the ball.... then later on I ahve same player in a perfectly good pic.. I get rid of one and keep the other.. thus good pics binned.

Different reasons over the yrs for the keeper rate to change..

I have my own web server running on my LAN with a fastish internet connection. That way I'm in complete control of the hardware and software and can tinker about with it to my heart's content.

I am currently with Photium as well but I have also bought a site through Luxipics that've I've never actually got round to setting up.

With Photium I am currently limited to 2,000 photos but you can add on packages to store more photos. With luxipics you have an unlimited amount of storage space. I assume Kipax will have a similar kind of webhosting that is unlimited.
 
Nagh theres no such thing as unlimited :) I have all 100 thousand pics stored on www.fotopic.net and you can edit the templates to make it look like your own website.. somehtign places like flkr can't do properly.. fotopic is a dedicated photo hosting site.. costs me 45 quid a yr..
 
Kipax do you get model releases for all the pics you sell? Is this needed?
