I am thinking of buying an hi lite after seeing somebody doing crap photos in my local shopping centre they didnt even have a back light in the hi lite! so i am thinking as they was charging £25 for 6 x 4 print i can do better ( one example i was shown by my friend was very gray and not sharp at all! )

so do you think these lights are enough to start with and maybe upgrade later

To use them properly, i think they use TWO lights.. then one to light your subject.. but i think there are some that only use one..

i was thinking of putting one light in the hi lite, one with a softbox and the 3rd one with a reflected umbrella pointing at the joint of the train.

You've been into the Whiterose centre . I was in there last week and was dragged away by the wife for saying out loud that the set up was not up to much (or words to that lol .) Just seems that there's alot of bad things always said about that studio . What your planning on should work , the train seems to be a constant issue from what i've read .Trying to get it right in camera comes across as very tricky .

Yes it was the whiterose and my wife was the same i got a right telling off from her for showing her up!! :bonk:

I know its not easy but ive done a bit of studio work in the past but i am no expert but with a bit of time it should be doable.

and the amount of people getting the photo done it worth a try.
