And of these how many do you use on a regular basis ?

I have three at the moment...Nikon 24mm f/2.8D, Nikon 35-70mm f/2.8D and Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D lenses.

Thanks,

Paul

Well I just bought 2 new ones recently and haven't sold the others yet. So here it goes. Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4.5 & 70-300 f4-5.6, tokina 24-200mm f3.5-5.6, nikon 70-300 VR 50mm f1.8 and 18-55 kit lens. The sigma 17-70 sits on the camera in the bag and the VR for when I need a bit of reach, haven't used the 50mm for a while. The others I'm probably going to sell when I get round to it.

Errmmmm...1 - my kit 18-55mm that came with my D40. Am hoping my wife will bring me back a Nikon 18-200mm AF-S VR when she comes back from the states :)

5 of em

Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS L - hardly ever leaves the camera
Canon 17-55 f2.8 IS EFS - gets used now and then
Sigma 105 f2.8 macro - gets used for macro (what else ? - too slow focusing go catch a 3 legged terrapin)
Canon 17-85 f4-5.6 IS EFS - retired anyone want it?
Canon 50 f1.8 - aka the nifty 50. - never gets used. The 17-55 is superior in practically all aspects

Six - and both Canon converters (as in my sig).

I'm very happy with all of them, as they've all been carefully considered buys. Least used unfortunately is the 17-40L, I really must make an effort!

At the moment I'm very happy with my lens choices and can't see anything I crave or need, but make a note of the time and date I said that. ;)

canon 18-55 EF-S
canon 35-80 (my macro :D)
Canon 70-200 F4 L
Canon 75-300 F4-5.6

6 but really 5 because the 18-55 kit lens was like a bus you wait for one and 2 turn up:)
Canon 100-400 L IS
Canon 100 macro (i'll wear this out)
Canon 70-200 L f2.8 IS (never been used since I bought it)
Canon 28-105 f3.5-4.5 II
2xCanon 18-55 kit lenses.

Canon 28-80 kept on 350d
Canon 80-200 kept for 350d also
Canon 28-135 IS for 10d
Canon 100-400 L IS for 10d

Dean:)

7 at the moment but have another on the way. Well will do once cheque clears. All are used from time to time. I am full frame so 28-70 f2.8L is most often used lens in my kit.

Erm 6 if you include the 2 converters, 4 if you dont ;)

50 F1.8 II
17-40 F4L
100-400 L
600 F4L

1.4 TC
2.0 TC

Most used being the 100-400 and 600 i really need to make an effort with the 17-40 but i refuse to get rid just cos its not being used much :)

see the sig

plus a kit lens which someone can have if they want for a price of course :)

Canon 16-35mm F/2.8L
Canon 70-200mm F/2.8L
Canon 85mm F/1.2L
Canon 180mm F.3.5L Macro
Canon 300mm F/2.8L
Canon 500mm F.4L

And both Canon 1.4x and 2x converters.

All lenses gets used in their respective field.:)

Tim, I'm gob smacked - I thought you had at least double that number. ;)

EF-S 10-22mm
18-55 kit lens
EF 70-200mm F4
EF 100-400mm IS

I mostly shoot sport (motorsport & football) and cars so that covers me just fine

I've narrowed it down to 4 lenses which cover everything I currently shoot quite nicely.

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5 - f/4.5 USM (for the wide stuff)
Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 Macro (all round lens)
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM (like it says... Macro)
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (enough zoom for now)

I like to be able to carry all my kit wherever I go (walking mostly) so anything larger or heavier and I'd never really get the use out of it as it would sit at home.

Depends how much you want for it :)

You paid a grand for a lens and never use it!?

I have:
Canon 18-55mm Kit
Canon 35-80mm Kit (from EOS 1000fn film)
Sigma 70-300mm APO

I'll keep the 18-55mm kit lens for sale when I resell my DSLR, but I don't use it much.
While the 35-80 is an older lens, I like it. Its got enough zoom for the style of portrait I like.
I'm hoping to get the Raynox 202 macro thing soon, along with 50mm 1.8 canon prime, a fisheye, and a wide angle lens for landscape when I go to the alps next year.
The 70-300 is the one I use the most.
I love it!

Still toying with the idea of a Super Wide Angle Cedric for some nice fun shots..

Something in the region of a Sigma 12-24mm to fit the full frame.:)

I have:

Canon 24-70f2.8 (on 5d)
Canon 300f2.8IS (on 1dmkII)
Canon 70-200f2.8IS (on 1dmkII when 300mm is too long)
Canon 1.4xTCII when 300mm is too short)

Canon 50f1.8 (gathering dust) Considering selling and replacing with a more useful/longer prime (85f1.2)

Im currently saving for other hobbies, but once i get back into my photography Ill be buying a Canon 180f3.5 macro+ring flash

Although maybe a 100f2.8macro would fulfil both my requirements, being a decent mid range prime and decent macro... more reading required me thinks.

I think about that now and again, but in all honesty I doubt it would see much use. On the other hand I could find a good home for your 300mm 2.8 :D

I have 3 lenses, the Nikon 18-70mm which came with the camera, and is almost permanently attached, a Sigma 70-300mm,(for the far away stuff+macro) and the Nikon 50mm f1.8.(The best value lens you can get imho)

I can borrow a Sigma 10-20mm off a friend if I feel the need. I think those lenses cover the majority of picture taking needs for most people.

I will hopefully be changing the Sigma for a Nikon 70-300 VR at some point. :) Thought not anytime soon sadly. :(

I have 7 with the 50mm 1.8 the least used.

Sigma 10-20
Canon 24-105 L
Canon 100-400 L
Canon 50mm 1.8 II
Canon 100mm Macro

Most used is equal between the 24-105 & the 100-400
Least used is the Nifty Fifty

Having just bought a 5D I'd really like to add the 17-40L to the list now :D

Feeling like a bit of a glutton here....
EF-S10-22 (in the post)
EF17-35 f/2.8L
EF28-70 f/2.8L
EF28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS
EF35-350 f/3.5-5.6L
EF70-200 f/2.8L
EF-S60 macro (due to depart soon)
EF100 macro
EF180L macro
MP-E65 macro (in the post)
EF300 f/4 ISL
EF400 f/5.6L
EF-S18-55 kits
EF2x, EF1.4x, Kenko 1.4x, Sigma 1.4x

And I still can't take a half decent shot:shake:

I'm down to 2 lenses at the moment.

17-40L f4
70-200 f2.8 with a 1.4x tc

not finding a need for anything between 40 and 70 at the moment that the reebok zoom can't solve.
Could do with something longer than 200 though, so i'm considering the 400 f5.6 as i'd only really shoot that long in daytime conditions. The only downside would be the f8 and no AF if I used the 1.4x tc on it.

Feeling like a bit of a glutton here....
EF-S10-22 (in the post)
EF17-35 f/2.8L
EF28-70 f/2.8L
EF28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS
EF35-350 f/3.5-5.6L
EF70-200 f/2.8L
EF-S60 macro (due to depart soon)
EF100 macro
EF180L macro
MP-E65 macro (in the post)
EF300 f/4 ISL
EF400 f/5.6L
EF-S18-55 kits
EF2x, EF1.4x, Kenko 1.4x, Sigma 1.4x

And I still can't take a half decent shot:shake:

 Blimey CB how big's your kit bag? Or do you just use a trailer :D

For what it's worth, I have a Commercial AW and a Stealth Reporter 550D AW.

I try to get my wife to do the carrying but find I have to leave the kit lenses at home or she gets tired too quickly

Why did you have to ask?
I'd never actualy stopped to count them until you asked.

How did I ever get to 11? :whistling:

I use them all quite often but I must have been trying to blank the actual count.

Canon 100-400mm used a lot
Canon 100mm Macro used a lot
Canon 50mm F1.8 never used, again.
Canon 70-200 F2.8 used a lot
Canon 24-70 F2.8 used a lot
Canon 17-40mm used occasionally
Canon 28-105 F3.5 used occasionally

Something in the region of a Sigma 12-24mm to fit the full frame.:)

Do it - lovely lens. Not as sharp as some, but with that fov, its as sharp as can be realistically ecpected!

1. EF 35mm f/1.4 L
2. EF 50mm f/1.4
3. EF 85mm f/1.8
4. EF 100mm f/2.8 macro
5. EF 300mm f/4 IS L
6. EF 24-105mm f/4 IS L
7. EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS L
8. ∑ 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX

EF 1.4x TC II & EF 2x TC II

all get regular use, though the 85mm is the one that gets neglected a little

Just 2 :(

18-70mm kit one and the 70-300mm VR which hardly leaves the camera.

Might be getting a macro or a nifty fifty soon though...

In order most used...
Nikon 17-55DX f2.8 80% of the time
Sigma 28-300 f3.5-5.6 18% of the time in good conditions only
Nikon 35-70 f2.8D now almost redundant - must get round to selling
Nikon 80-200 f2.8D now hardly ever used and also must sell to fund a Nikon 105mm 2.8 Macro.

In order of most used:

Canon 24-105L IS f4 - great everyday lens
Sigma 100-300 EX f4 - great for motorsport, but normally kept at home
Canon 50mm f1.8 - nifty fifty - great for portraits and low light stuff
Sigma 10-20 EX - UWA
Tamron 28-300 - kept in the camera bag for when I need 100-300 range but haven't got my big Sigma with me.

EFS 18 - 55 Kit lens
Sigma 17 - 70DG 2.8 4.5
Sigma APO DG 70 - 300 - For Sale Soon
