ok story i put my lens in for repair on the 9th feb the guys in the shop said prob a 7-10 day turn around its a rear mount and full service on a 70-200 f4 non is gave them a phone and the part is still not in thats 10-11 days dont see me getting it back any time soon

That's odd. The rear mounts are surely the same for all EF lenses, so they must have loads of them on hand.

they said they have been on to canon a few times so i will wait and see i will give them a call next week to see if its fixed

Ah. "The guys in the shop." Which shop? Where did they send it - directly to Canon at Elstree, or to one of their authorised repair centres which don't necessarily operate so quickly and don't necessarily hold so many parts? When did they send it - as soon as they got it from you, or did they wait until they had a bunch of items to send off? I see lots of scope for delays to be introduced into the process here...

its in ajjohnstone in glasgow stewart the guys have marked the repair down as urgent there a authorised repair centre as far as i know

Last year I sent 79 lenses to Canon for repair. The average turnaround time, from when I sent them to when I received them back, was 11 days. Over half of them came back within 7 days (including transit both ways.)

Last time I was waiting on Canon spares from Elstree they told me Canon Central spares were in Germany. Elstree could get them within 48 hrs but I'll bet your issue would be with A&L in Glasgow

fingers crossed it isnt going to turn in one of them the parts not in yet sort of ones lol
