How hot is it where you are, at the moment?

It's a steady 22c here in the office, flexible working scheme means I can go into the office and sit in a perfectly conditioned desk whenever I feel the need :D

Hottest was around just 30c yesterday in the sunny conservatory thanks to air-con. I also didn't spend a penny running the aircon for most of yesterday, thanks to roof-top solar panels. :D

26°C according to the thermometer next to me. Stuck inside for a few hours - pupil dilating drops (retinopathy screening) make outdoors WAY too bright (wearing shades and screen brightness turned down as it is...)

just finished playing tennis at 29C. Probably drank a lot more water than usual.

Dave

29 degrees this evening after work by the car guage. We went for an 8K walk tonight and sweated our way round the countryside.

South facing by any chance? We have a South facing patio and rear wall and we see 40+ regularly in the Summer. The problem is that it is always 10C hotter in the litchen  :$
Yes I think it is, great in early spring I can open the door and heat the whole house from the porch :D

29.5 according to the car, while driving, when I melted nipped out a couple of hours ago ..

29° on my car's thermometer, 27° on Mrs Nod's car 2 minutes later (after a clothes and vehicle change.) 27.6° beside the chair here - the coolest place in the house at the moment!

its rumbling here a few thunder spots too, but I think it'll pass to the North ...

Still clear skies in north wales dining room (south facing ) was 34 degrees at 7 p.m.

Well it's bloody hot here today sat in my home office it's 82 degrees' so I thought I'd check outside as it's to hot to sit out and has been all day it's 122 degrees.

Stepped off a plane at Luton on Tuesday into 31c, it was like walking into a wall of heat. 23-26c seems about average around here but they're saying parts of Central Scotland have hit the 30's today too.

Blimey you're brave :D
But yeah its been hovering around 30 for a few days now.

25°C here at the moment and the pet cooling pads I ordered for Mrs Nod's Mum have arrived so I have a nice cool back (for testing purposes, you understand.) Might even keep one for myself. Don't really understand how the things work (100% passive cooling) but they seem to so who really cares how!!!

Comfortable 20C where I am in NE England, although it is being spoiled by the noise of our neighbours 'ride upon' lawnmower making a racket. He keeps stalling it and restarting...

Hot? hardly mid teens, it also appears that I am pretty much in the eye of the weather front,
Its hammering it down ...
At least the pond is refilling nicely :D

Whazzing down here just a few minutes ago. :P

The "eye" looks to be heading slightly NE now, over to you Kings Lynn & Wisbech.
Its still raining here though, but not as violently

It's probably waiting for the warmth of the sun to return :)

We've had 4 cats..all at the same time. One from the rescue centre, one from the vets when my wife took our retriever there one day..he knows a soft touch when he sees one :D . Along with three week-old siblings it was found flea-covered in a roadside hedge The mother had been killed on the road .Another turned up on the doorstep..starving and frightened. We took her in and then advertised her thinking she was lost and people came but no-one claimed her. I named her Freddie..after Freddie Mercury....then when we took her to the vet for a check up he said it was a female but not to worry she won't realise it has a male name...so, Freddie it was and another one adopted us. The feral kitten loved to jump onto the retriever from behind a lounge chair as the dog went by it. It used to run up the back of my leg, up onto my shoulder when I was in the kitchen at the worktop doing something. It's claws were sharper than Wilkinson's best razor blade:D

Anyway, I'm posting to say how pleased I was today to see that this 'thing' was (A). Caught and (B) got 5 years 3 months.

Someone round here is firing ball bearings at cats and two have been blinded.

Used to have one of those. Surprised the security services haven't used one for interrogation purposes! :D

I am just adding to this thread, because this is the worst Summer I can remember, one dull, damp day after another. I have watered the garden about half a dozen times the entire "Summer". It is now getting me depressed, 14C cloudy, that is the forecast in the "Garden of England" for the next six days - this is August for heaven's sake.

You should pop over to LB. A tropical 15o here. :D
I suspect that's because you are closer to the equator than me (y)

Can anyone in all honesty remember a worse Summer than this?
I didn't think it was too bad up to now, plenty of sunshine and of course a share of rain,
But I found I was using the hose quite a lot in the drying winds.
more so than last year.

It has been cooler here (London) this week than anytime in the previous month, possibly two months, but I've worn only shorts and T shirts for the last six weeks so its been pretty good.

Dave

I've just had to put a cardigan on [ Glasgow]

Low 20's here, the sun still has plenty left for the next few days (y)
But of course the rain, as always, is waiting in the wings.

22C, sunny, I feel happier already. However, the breadmaking in our South facing kitchen was a bit of a trial, particularly as it means all windows shut.
