How horrible has it gotten to let someone work in child care and let them get away with it...

"A nursery worker has been charged with sexual assault and the distribution of indecent images of children." Makes me wonder sometimes.#

It will be interesting to see if she passed all the checks or if she was working there due to a failed system.
 
They have not confirmed that she was CRB checked.

But even if she was that only means she was never caught before doing anything wrong.

Bad people will occasionally always get into positions of trust/power with vulnerable people the best you can do is make it very hard (CRB checks but there's a point before someone is caught when they don't have a criminal record) and have ways of working which will detect any abuse early and make sure everyone know what to do about it (how/who to report it to). Unfortunately there is always an air of it couldn't happen here and that attitude only aids the abuser whether they are in childcare, the police or medical services.

Okay, I'll stop ranting now.
