How has Photography changed you?

It's made me realise that Wedding Togs are vastly overpaid and have egos to suit......

:runaway:

Thanks for taring us all with the same brush

Photography has chaged me immensly in the last few years, almost everything i do now is photography related and i dont go ANYWHERE without my gear. Trouble is with more photography comes more sitting down on my backside at the computer, not good for my piles:whistling: I never thought id own so many hard drives, a hoilday....whats that:thinking: couldnt imagine spending august away id never relax thinking of all those weddings id be missing and besides id rather spend the £5000 on even more gear

Hi Same here, everything I do is Photography related, if Im not taking photos or uploading them to the computer, Im normally doing stuff on Photoshop or printing photos :). I spend most of my money on Photography stuff lol :)

im new at this and having been a car enthusiast for years (well im only 24 lol) i find that photography allows me to embrace that passion and i love the technical side of it all.

also i find that i look at everything differently and am constantly scanning for a good photo opportunity.

i love this hobby and i cant wait to get better. I find this site is a huge help and i love being able to tap into the wealth of knowledge on here :)

im just in awe of the photos that are shared on here.

It's given me something to concentrate outside of work, a job that consumes me entirely most of the time! It's has helped me at work though, being made my unit tog which has helped put me into the limelight a little more. Working with models and people has helped my people skills and confidence a little too.

(Haven't really read any of the replies so far)

Started out when i was 10 and i've just built up the quality of my equipment, starting with a sony compact camera, now using a Canon 40D and looking at an upgrade to something a little more superior.

I'm now 16, i feel photography in general has made me mature, and has made me more responsible and It's opened my eyes to the going's on around the country, it's allowed me to meet many new faces, be it faces that are now friends, or world wide recognised professional photographers.

I specialise in motorsport photography, but i also love landscape / scenic photography, waiting for hours on end, just to capture that one special shot. Can't beat it IMO :D
I understand that it could be difficult to have a career in photography, but if one was to arise, i'd snap at it straight away!!

My aim for now is to complete my GCSE's in school, stay on and complete my A levels, but also give up my evenings to complete an A level in photography at a local college. Then i'll probably go to University and undoubtidly see what courses are on offer photography wise.
I'll always keep photography as a serious hobby for the weekends, do motorsport photography most weekends and landscape / scenic photography on my spare weekends. As soon as i'm able to drive legally, i'll most probably turn up to a few of the Brecon Beacons meetings that are arranged on here, meet new people and learn new things from you all.

Hope this has given you an insight into me as a person and how i feel photography has had an influence on my life so far.

Cheers,

Mrs G talks to to the wall a lot more when I am on here:D

Its made me happier, esp when i get a great shot! I too am into animal/ wildlife photography mainly so i can be found stalking things  Its also something i can do while the kids are young so i dont get bored. I have also started to get them into it, they are aged 3 1/2 and 2 :D

It has opened my eyes up more to the world around me, theres so many things i look at now and notice things that i wouldnt of before!

The only thing i wish is i had a real life photo buddy, someone to talk to about things/ talk about shots we got ect.

Its not made my oh very impressed though. I always want to photograph the wildlife down the allotment instead of doing something 'more useful' and never leave my camera behind :)

Im pulling my hair out without it at the mo

 I can relate to that. There's many a time I am sat here just in a world of my own. The camera is often affectionately referred to as "that bloody camera".

Hi Same here, sometimes when Im trying to take a photo of something, if the camera doesn't focus, I call the camera 'Stupid.'

i,ve become much more aware of light and colours around me ,more observant...i continually look at other peoples work and compare different styles

i knew i had the bug when i looked at a glamour shot of a beautiful model and thought i wouldn,t have used that lighting

or is that just getting old:D

If she does get an answer from me it is usually delayed by about 10 seconds and more often than not I make up an answer from the jumbled recollection of what I think she might have said, then she says "I knew you weren't listening":D

Pleased I am no the only one.:D

I used to be a woman before I bought a camera. And then overnight, it all changed.

I`ve made some really good friends through it, seen places and things that I would never have before.

I appreciate the 'little things' in life that I wouldn't have really noticed before. Photography makes me see the world differently. This may sound cheesy, but I think you can find something beautiful in everything.

Was shown some pics of my wifes cousins 2 dogs today, normally being an animal lover I would be complimenting the dogs but my first comments were about the sun casting shadows. Got a stiff rebuke from the wife with comments like

just because you are always on TP deosn't make you a pro

:(

Rather than just glancing at pics in magazines I now look at them from a togs point of view.

All I can say is that it has made me skint and made me look at my surroundings more closely and differently so yes it has changed me. Photography through TP has given me the opportunity to meet more people like yourself which again is a good thing ;)

TP has helped an awful lot, I love living in Finland but there aren't that many people I can communicate with in this kind of way, sometimes I really wish I could make a meet sometime.

Im up for a Finland meet. Id love to come over to Finland sometime to photograph some of the wildlife over there.

As for how photography has changed me;

I met Sarah through Photography, and now live with her.
My job is photography based.
My hobby is photography and anything photography based.

So photography has basically caused/influenced/changed my love life, my work life and my spare time. It has done me a mighty lot of good. Thanks Photography. :)

Remember to hold it in the summer or that will be a f*****g huge ammount of flash-bulbs and batteries you will be using:lol:

Well Natasha, i already enjoyed great views of wildlife and i got a camera to record what i was seeing. Now it has equal footing with my wildlife watching, and its made a real difference being able to record difficult to seperate species.

i think i'm much more perceptive of my surroundings now, i'm constantly on the look out for a good photo (even when i don't have my camera with me :D )

Hi Sounds like you've got the best of both (wildlife and photography) which is good, went to your Flickr gallery, I love your bird photos especially the kingfisher and puffin ones :), I've always loved animals, since getting into Photography, I've been able to combine the two :)
