After missing out on @Andysnap 's Selfix 16-20 in the classifieds, I've been looking at them on eBay (*). If I end up with one with light-leaks, how hard is it to fix (black fabric tape?) or replace (can you buy them?). If it's going to be a pain, I think I'd rather pay extra for one from someone who knows what they're talking about, rather than a "this was my dad's, no idea if it works" auction.

(*) (other auction sites are available)

I bought some fabric repair paint, I'll have a look at what its called when I get home, from a crafty type place (as in arts and crafts not crafty like a fox) and I used it on a camera earlier this year and it worked very well. It's a kind of plastic paint thing (technical term).

+1 on the matt black latex fabric paint. Can take a couple of coats (multiple thin coats are much better than single thick layers)

bought a small bottle of it on fleabay a few years ago, and used it to repair the bellows on the Perkeo (just a few tiny "pinholes", no rips or holy corners) but it's amazing stuff - I even fixed the shutter curtain of my old Fed3a which is a rubberised canvas and had "perished/delaminated" leaving a dirty great translucent area in the middle of the curtain. 3 thin coats later, and the shutter is now light-tight, and it hasn't even made a noticeable difference to the shutter speed.

this was the stuff I bought...

I tell you what, Andy, when you buy your next one, then decide to sell it again, I'll buy it from you. :p

Deal.... speak to you again in a week or two. :D

Do you definitely want a Selfix or are you just looking at 120 film folding cameras? I have a Kodak 66 which is nothing special but the lens is o.k. and it takes 120 film (unlike Kodak's later cameras which were 620).

If you want it, you can have it for the cost of postage.

Alternatively, its bellows could be transplanted to another camera.

Steve.

That's really good of you, Steve! But, I'm looking for the Selfix 16-20 specifically - I think it looks nice/cute, and I already have a 6x9 Kershaw folder (and a couple of 6x6 cameras) and I'd like a 645 with some more shutter-speed options than the Kershaw. Thanks, though!
