your the one spreading it...

Good point! Although seeing as its headline news in the local rag, I doubt putting it here makes any difference. Have to say, I do feel for him a little!

Why? He broke the law. It's no different to any other crime being in the paper.

This is a "problem" created by bad law. If prostitutes were allowed to either advertise or run brothels the problem with soliciting on the street would be massively reduced.

But that's another debate for another day ...

But that's another debate for another day ...

To be fair, a mate of mine who is a cop says that the few that do work there are all addicts and probably not the sort to do anything different so unless they had a specific area you could work in, any changes would make no difference. Agree that the law does need to be looked at though as it will never go away.

whats wrong with going commando?

Nowt in my book ;)

Back on topic.......

I can't believe someone of his age would go out looking for this kind of service, thought it was just middle-aged men that went for this sort of thing....... well with the exclusion of blokes on stag parties in Amsterdam, Prague etc

“In his pocket, police found a packet of unopened condoms.
Just because he had them doesn't mean he was doing anyting wrong then :D
Just because a person is carrying a jimmy bar doesn't mean they are going to break in somewhere does it? :D

“They also discovered he wasn’t wearing any underwear underneath his jeans.”

Is anything worn under the jeans?

Nope it's all in perfect working order :D

technically you can be detained for "going equiped".. ;)

maybe its the same for condoms

Maybe it is then :D
Bit like a chippy carrying a "posidrive"?
intention to screw perhaps?
:D

I can't help wondering exactly who the victim is under the cannabis charge.

I was amused by the last paragraph, regarding the 'crackdown'.

The only law that has been broken is that of kerb crawling. I don't consider it a bad law, it stops innocent girls being approached by drivers asking if they give a service. Prostitutes can and do advertise as escorts which is perfectly legal. The running of brothels is controlled to stop girls being exploited by illegal gangs. However as I understand it 'escorts' can legally work from a location as long as there are no more than two working at any one time.

I know the person mentioned in the article from school!

I think the reason behind the name and shame is there is so many problems with that area of Cambridge they are trying to reduce it so there showing it as a shock tactic to make people probably think twice unless they want there name in the local paper for everyone to find out!

Plus as had been said most of the people working the streets around there are mixed up in the world of drugs too.

Why was the female not named?

Probably because she didn't break any laws that they could hold her for. If he was kerb crawling and made the approach then she couldn't really be arrested for soliciting. So there is no case for her to answer.

She's an accessorie in my book ,purely on the account that she got into his car with intent ,why else was she there ?

Maybe I'm wrong but that's the way I see it .

Should think himself lucky it was only the cops that caught him, it could have been worse and been caught with a dose of the clap or worse. Teach him a lesson to stay away from the main source of HIV.

There is no law against prostitution and therefore no crime in getting in the car. The criminal act was kerb crawling and she cannot be an accessory to that.

Prostitution is not illegal, so her intent was to do something legal. Pretty sure you can't be prosecuted for something that is not a crime ;)

Good job the article said he had condoms.. ;)

far as i can see he wasnt using drugs intravenously

prositution isn't the main source of HIV in this country, it isnt even a major source - B strain aids, which is mostly what we have in the UK requires major fluid exchange so its prime transmission is addicts sharing needles, and to an extent gay sex where there is tissue tearing or lesions , and male to female transmission in hetero unprotected sex

E strain aids which is largely found in asia and africa is a lot more virulent and does transmit female to male much more easily but that isnt a major problem in the uk (yet)

I'm not saying that going with tarts is in anyway desirable , but to depict it as the main source of aids is ridiculous - its not even the main source of other STDs , as a proportion of cases far more are spread through casual sex amongst aquaintances/ drunk strangers

Entrapment then .... lol

Feel a bit sorry for the bloke who was "named and shamed", but I guess it's more embarrassing than anything. You'd have thought the police had better things to do with their time.

Yup! .... Ended up in the Sin Bin without even getting on the field ;)

prostitution isn't illegal? woah, you learn something new every day, I thought it was, has the law been changed recently or is it a case, of its not illegal to be a prostitute, but it is illegal if you are the man paying for it. A bit like the contradictionary law the boy racers always complain about that its legal to buy stylish fancy number plates for their cars, but its illegal when they put them on.

Prostitution has never been illegal in the UK and it is not illegal to pay for sex.
But soliciting, kerb-crawling, pimping, and keeping a brothel are illegal.

i'd have paid the prossie another £10 to say that i had a massive todger in her statement. Hopefully it would get into the press in a kind of a damage limitation exercise. :suspect:

right in that case im getting the daily sport to have a browse through the classifieds

Not sure if you will find anything there. I think it's illegal for them to advertise now. :rules:

lol I wasn't serious, I'm married and even if i wanted to, i would be too worried about catching something.

they generally advertise as either escorts or massuese - which really pees off people who are genuine massuese - I know a girl who does the latter who specifically has "we do not offer adult/full contact massage so dont ask" in her advertising.

sooooo... you want to, but you're married? But you would if you were sure you wouldn't catch something? :gag:

Keep digging... i'll pass you a bigger spade in a bit
