I've been looking around for a little while now trying to decide on what flash to go for next, I want to start trying a bit of "off camera flash" stuff, probably just portraits of the kids indoors and out to start off with. I already have one flash (Nissin 622i MKii) but I want a two flash set up. I pretty much had my mind made up on the Nikon sb700 but then I started reading reviews saying things like, it won't be powerful enough for shooting through softboxes/umberllas etc. Also that the hss wouldn't be up to much in bright sunlight or bouncing due to power etc.
That got me looking into more powerful flashes like the Nikon sb910 (what i'd originally ruled out mainly due to size) but also the YN 568ex, obviously there's a big price difference with the two but I just wondered how it stacked up. I know there's quite a few people on here that speak very highly of the Yongnuos but would they be any good for novice and would they work with Nikons CLS? I still have my concerns about size but I suppose if I'm mainly using it off camera it won't matter too much. I just thought if I splashed out on a Nikon when I did want it on camera I'd use that rather than the Nissin.
Thanks for any help
