How do you stop yourself spending money?

There is an old saying "he who dies with the most toys wins" I think its only fair that I try my best.
In my case there should be weekly meting to try and avoid Nikon and Apple, as I fail badly when I see them.

Willpower. It's what a lot of people use every day. It's the thing that stops the reformed alcoholic having a drink. The reformed gambler from gambling or for most just the ability to say no when we see something we want but don't actually need.

I would have thought that a person who lives with somebody that manages a pub would be saving every penny they could. Because knowing how insecure pub management is, not only could she very easily find herself out of a job you could both very easily find yourselves out of a home.

I'll never be out of a home, there will be somewhere I could go. The pub she works in does very well, even if it has a quiet period, the other pub does well enough to cover the two. I earn enough to support the two of us, regardless of where we live. If I was thrown in to that position and I had to shell out for bills, I could, and I obviously wouldn't be able to buy things. But, right now, I'm trying to save, but can't.

I refer you to my earlier posts.

I'm Scottish, parting with money is against my dna.

Although I have new hifi speakers coming on demo this week, and my wallet has gone into hiding.

I'm a yorkshireman so not quite as tight as you lot north of the border but close. Thing is, I've lived in the midlands for too long so I'm losing my frugal streak
