Well thank you for the spelling correction, but I suggest you look up the meaning of the word because it has nothing to do with disagreeing with other peoples views. You didn't voice opinion, you stated fact and when I tried to pint out some research material in order that you may educate yourself further, you came back with a sarcastic remark. Smilies in this instance did nothing to change that.

In repsonse to the OP's OP (:D) I'm not totally sure how I'd react. I'd love to say I'd take the higher ground but I'm not sure I would. I honestly think I'd gob off back at them. Wouldn't hit them though, unless they swung first, then I'd be quick about helping them to the ground. But would not hit them, not worth it these days, doeesn't matter whether they swung first or even if thhey'd gone for you with a blade or other weapon, with the justice system as it is I'm sure I'd still come off worse.

I'd like to see special measures added to a blanket curfew too though, so the little sods who happen to be just over 16 can be home by 7pm if they act up.

As for making chavs etc do time in the Army, I wouldn't want the little *******s in my troop. If they were to be forced to join up I'd say have entire regiments dedicated to housing these scummers with nobody else. If they want to play the hard man and start throwing their weight around, let them do it on the business end of an advance through the Helmand. See how hard they are then after they've just seen their mate take one in the gut, with his insides spilling out, screaming out for his mother.

But only in their own regts. Not mine :D Does that make me a NIMR? :p

Fabs sorry to hear that you thought i was being sarcastic, but unfortunatly sarcasm isnt my forte. I dont beleive i was trying to intentionally disrespect anyone diagnosed with ME but you need to relax a little, if you took everything in this thread litterally we would be in serious trouble :p

I'm very relaxed. You have to realise that you can't post inflammatory things like that and not expect a reaction.

I don't think people should be in the army because they need to learn to respect people. Respect should be a requirement.

Don`t forget the amount of training that goes into being in the armed forces, respect for your senior officers included. The training alone would be likely to give a lot of chavs a different outlook on life ie, that there are responsibilities for the actions they take.

Fair enough but i really dont think in these situations we should be taking everything one says as personally as you seemed to have taken my previous posts. Once again i didnt mean to offend anyone.

But apparantly i also seem to dream of being hitler...exept not racist just pig ignorant :shrug: Guess im going to have to deal with that one now :p
 
i think that you need to catch up to the 21st century because Kay Jay seems to be around my age group and it seems that only the older people here are taking these post the wrong way...

Threaten to kill someone, especially when on the rnages, in this job and you'll be looking at some 'attitude adjustment' at the MCTC Colchester, AKA The Glass House. And that place isn't pleasant. Would make most of the HMPs look like Butlins.
 
The difference being that KayJay doesn't seem to want to round people up and shoot them.

Not all people with ME are Chavs and not all chavs have ME

My daughter has ME and has been diagnosed with such by a Doctor who has had ME in the past.
So as it is recognised by the medical profession I guess it must exist :shrug:

Instead of sitting around claiming benifits she runs a reasonably sucessful on line business :thumbs:

i dont know what it was like 35-40 years ago, but i do remember the early 80's when you could hardly go on a train for fear of teenage skinheads going on the rampage.
give me a choice between having a snowball fight with a kid in a hoodie or a fight with a load of skinheads i know which i would prefer.
seems a lot of people on here have forgotten those 'good old days'

anyway, god only knows what this thread has to do with photography anymore, it seems to have turned into a flaming match about M.E.

Except that's not really the choice is it, it's about being threatened with violence & (if I hadn't been 6'3, 18 stone and able to stand up for myself) possibly being assaulted by a group of 4 teenagers for taking photos.

I hate stereotypes, why do most people believe that all teenagers are chavs? My grandma the other day saw a lamppost that was broken, and she insinuated that it must have been teenagers that caused it. Its not the case, the minority ruin it for the majority, and the majority of teenagers are perfectly decent human beings who are quite happy to help, for example helping an old lady cross the road. Maybe some younger people are not so friendly because of what older generations have said or done to them in the past?

Its the same with Women, why do alot (not all of course) of men believe women are weak and cannot do the same as what men do? Its all to do with socialisation, and how society dicates how we should see each other.

As for the M.E issue, I dont see how people can say its not a real illness, yes, there isnt any kind of test to prove it, but what happened, to just believing in someone, there does not need to be evidence for something to be there. Coming from a person who has suffered from M.E for 6 years, and nearly had to have a trachiotomy because of glandular fever, why would we make this up? I would do anything, and I mean anything to get rid of it, its totally ruined my life, and dicates what I do.

I dont mean to cause any offence, buts its just my two pennies worth from a 19 year old female with M.E

Indeed. Even MS cannot be proved outright, it's just best guess by a neurologist after exhausting other avenues.

Amy thats how it started with my daughter at 18, following a bout of Glandular fever. 5+ years ago.
And from all the research I / we have done that seems to be the root cause in a large percentage of cases
 
Cobra, I hope your daughter gets better soon. I had enough stick about M.E throughout high school, which I tried to just ignore, but its just something that is too close to my heart to let people tease me about. Once they have all the facts, fine, I dont mind for them to make their own judgement, but many people dont have a clue about it, its not just a tiredness issue, and how can they make a judgement when they dont know everything.
