How do you deal with Teenage Idiots

avoiding things like this is exactly why we have the problems in the first place.

I appreciate it's a judgement call taking into account the circumstances & your own abilities and you do what you have to do, but then I don't think you can complain about the state of society when you don't do anything about it (I mean generally, not you specifically)

What's that African phrase, something along the lines of it takes a mother to have a baby but a village to bring it up?

Unfortunately, in the UK we have forgotten the bit about the village & leave it to everyone else, who are all busy leaving it to everyone else.

Quite right  They need to be set a good example. And violence isn't a good example. Being smacked in the face for behaving like an idiot isn't going to stop them doing it, it's going to make them more angry and isolated which is what caused them to behave like an idiot in the first place

How do you stop your trousers falling down? Serious question.

why not put the images on youtube in a small vid tag it like **** with your local area names and chav words that will appeal to their likes ask people to name and shame their mates will soon get wind of it and no doubt someone will tell you exactly who they are.

chances are their parents might watch it to...after they leave the pub or put the joint down

With the proliferation of knife crime nowadays, wouldn't it be better to avoid things like this?

How do mean avoid ... I'm walking along the road/street ok,and i see some youths just ahead, what do i do? .. turn around .. cross to the other side .My point is ,why should i !!! I was brought up to respect other people .Problem as i see it ,respect is no longer taught at any level .But,this is just my opinion, and your entitled to yours

Buy them to small, all my trousers... If I was to wear them normaly would look like ankle swingers... if you buy them smaller then they fit tighter and look alot cooler, IN MY OPINION :p

Bring back the death penalty. Chav's should be euthanized. Simple.

I can guarrantee he would have gone backwards much quicker than he came forwards. My motto is its better to be tried by twelve than carried by six. They bank on the fact that people are scared of them, doesnt hurt to hand out a lesson now and then.

Ignoring the little dears is the reason this country has gone down the tubes, too many people turning the other cheek and thus educating people like this that they can do whatever they like without consequences. They might get away with it with you, or at school or with their parents, but they sure as hell ain't getting away with it with me.

Badger,
it doesn't bother me really, if it did I wouldn't be standing there pointing 3 grands' worth of my hard earned money in their faces.

Problem is that most of us don't have a choice. I am certainly not capable of challenging a gang of yobs.

I'd love to clip them round the ear and give them a mouthful too. Unfortunately had to do that on several occasions as the idiots think hanging out below my flat is a good idea or more recently jumping over the back fence as a shortcut.

Just playing devils advocate :)

Very true. And well done for standing your ground.

Didn't get any back shots of the wonderful youth?
Just wondering if there was a big matching " S E " on the back of his top, to go with the " A R " on the front.

Shame, I guess the cure for cancer must be walking amongst them then?

"Sharon! Have ya seen Darren?"
"Yeah, I fink he's wiv Arron!"

I shouldn't laugh but

Yea i have to agree when i used to hang about as a kid we wouldn't go Snowballing random people and giving anyone any hassle even if we sat on someones front wall we'd move on if the curtains moved ...If only kids was the same now !

Its bit funny situation now though when get gangs kids and here all things on the News and there all cant touch us rubbish they chant not that i get bothered myself though i did have some random teenagers throw a stone at my window for a laugh and run off which i found quite funny after getting my trainers on and catching one of them not far down the road at which point he burst into tears ...funny enough that was the first and last i seen from them :suspect:

I shouldn't laugh but

Laugh, please laugh, it's all we can do to keep the hope alive  Before I migrated, the morning bus journey was such a pleasure with 14 year old's trying to smoke spliffs with their mobiles blastin out the worst examples/excuses of supposed 'music'. I'm so happy to not experience that joy here.

I chav once threw a snowball at me. SO I threw one back. This made the chav mad. He punched me. It didnt hurt TBH. I treid to punch him back but I punch like a muppet:(

I knew I purchased a monopod for something :boxer:

A couple of years ago a group decided it would be "funny" to through a coke bottle up in the air at Paddington Underground station just as a large number of people got off the train during rush hour. The bottle almost hit a woman on the head, but I managed to catch it.

I then pulled the little scroat to the floor and told him what to do with the bottle. One of them decided he was going to "'ave me", but when he approached me I just shouted "What ?" right in his face. He backed down and shut up.

The two guys from LU on the platform never did a thing, just didn't want to know....

I have scum like that, need a good smack on the bridge of he nose.

[and breathe......]

Steve

It's all down to society that we can't stop this behaviour. I'm nearer to 50 than 40 now and can remember being out and about with the rest of the lads but it used to be that everyone was a copper back then. If word got back to my old fella that I had stepped out a line, well it just wasn't worth it

You wouldn't dare be lippy with your elders because you would have got a clip, and the local copper new fine well he wasn't going to be dragged through the courts if he put his foot up your backside.

So now I have my kids telling me what they can do and how us oldies can't touch them and I tell them " step over the mark and and I will happily do the time" and they know fine well I mean it.

Put the power back into the hands of Parents, teachers, police etc and watch society change.

In the meantime laugh at them and tell them they wouldn't last 5 minutes and walk away

Blood back to near normal temperature.

Dude, judging by your pic, do you get them from Mothercare?:lol:

i unfortunately resist kicking the **** out of them most of the time.

but they deserve it.

no mercy.

my advice would be, try to judge the situation and be careful. These days you just don't know what reaction you might get back...

unfortunatley this is todays society

i worked the doors for 7 years i have had a gun pulled on me a knife several times
bottles across my head several , and countless punches ,

now dont get me wrong i was payed to take the **** and i have seen some things that would turn your stomach and most of these incidents were not by adults but young 18 year olds thinking that there it + Tanked up with booze

i always found the best way to deal with them is if they get close, restrain them and once done so three is so many things you can do to hurt them or not with out ever been prosocuted ie dislocated shoulders and is so easy to do with the correct training ,
i have done this when a knife was pulled on me and becasue it was a restraint it is legal to do so with no proscution if done correctly

please go on a course before attempting restraints as if it goes wrong then you can be liable to prosocution

and just a quick note if they approach you and prior to it they say there gonna punch you and a arm goes up legaly you are able to protect yourself if neccesary as long that the is reasonble threat to your safety

I'll be honest and say I haven't seen any sort of chavs in Prague since I've been here. Any youngsters you do come accross are well mannered and friendly.

...then again you are allowed concealed handguns here so you if you start mouthing off or hitting people you don't know what they'll take out from their coat.

Sorry to hear that,

It's disgusting how the little darlings carry on !, I'm blessed with lots of em near where I live if it's not vandalisam of property/cars it's verbal abuse, only thig to do as has been said already is to be bigger and louder and more in there face than them, 99 times out of a hundred they'll back down and vanish, basic fear instinct takes over, in the 1 percent this does not work, than a slip with the monopod takes care of em, both have worked for me in the past.

Exactly. I shudder every time I see these scum. I have an heart condition that dictates I take life very steady these days and photography is one of the few hobbies I can still enjoy. I would as likely as not have a heart attack if any of these 'people' started on me whilst I was out snapping. I do worry that the way things are getting the physically weaker among us will end up too afraid to go out - and that's not through any lack of spunk but purely because of physical ability (or lack of).
