Have seen images on google of a wedding ring in middle of a book and it's creating a heart shape shadow any help how I would get that effect ie where would the light have to be set up behind/side on/ front
Any help would be appreciated

Mark

Best idea would be to put a ring on a book and get a torch, move the torch about and you'll soon get the idea.

It's been done to death on here

It's been done to death everywhere, I'd suggest it simply as an exercise in understanding shadows. Although watching snooker works for that too.

So is Talk Photography ;)

Really, the posts before mine seemed to be less than helpful. All along the idea of sort it out for yourself and its a naff idea that been done before. :naughty:

Really? The 1st reply is a link to an example, the 2nd gives an idea on how to get started with it and the 3rd suggests that, although it's been done to death everywhere, he should use it as an exercise in understanding shadows.

Then your post suggests he should have used google.

I dont know admirables post was right get a torch find out what it does by moving it, to see what happens to the shadow areas, as an exercise in understanding shadows
