How do you cook rice!?

It needs to be cooked ?

I thought it was a bit gritty :(

Problem solved - no argument needed ;)

There is if you were making rice pudding :D

Dead easy cooking rice/popcorn and the like. Get a chicken and stuff the rear end with rice/popcorn. Place it in a microwave with the front of the chicken pointing towards the microwave door. Prepare the table so its next to the microwave and wait. As soon as the rice/popcorn explodes the chicken hits the microwave door with such force the door flies open, the chicken shoots out right onto the waiting plate.

:lol::lol::lol:

Taken from the master cook school book of Realspeed

By the way not recommended using a haggis, it can leave a terrible dent in the wall opposite

Last time i had rice I got terrible constipated so I went to the DR. He gave me enormous pills to take one am- one noon- one evening - for 3 weeks and to put them up my back passage. I did as I was told and went back to the DR who asked if the pills works.
"No" I said "Now I can't even open my back gate" :shake::shake::shake:

A selection of both. If I get bored of brown, I go for white basmati for a week. Brown is nutritionally better, but 3 times a day it soon gets boring!

Weve had boiled rice tonight with pinto beans in it, served with home made Steak and mushroom stroganoff, if you want the recipe let me know

heres some rice recipes http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipes/rice-recipes.aspx

Talk daft? Lmfao ok big man go away and stop creating trouble out of something that had nothing to do with you in the first place you internet warrior!

Jog on kiddo, good luck with the fantasy and generic cliche'd dietary advice.

I've got a great idea for the Tp convention - we'll get a cage set up and you two can sort your differences out mano et mano while the rest of us try out our action photography. ;)

Back on the topic of cooking rice, i'm another one who cant get it to come out right if i cook it in a pan on its own - so i usually wind up cooking it in the main pan with everything else - rissotto, paella, etc - and i tend to cook curry like that too so its basically a curried rissotto

I cooked rice last night, handful (generous) per person and one for the pot. Put water in from the boiled kettle (before the rice sorry) and a knorr stock cube. Stuck it on to simmer, stirred a few times with a fork and 12 minutes later it was done. Yum

Husband eats a lot of rice and pasta and he's not fat or sluggish. He plays rugby although it's off season at the moment so he's just training. We normally cook when his team is at home so I cook rice for 40, same process as above

lol - andy and I have had the same discussion before - theres a few people i'd love to get in a cage with too (note here i am not a cage fighter - with the exception of a very breif flirtation with krav maga - cut short by a unplanned intersection of motorbike and transit van - my only real fighting experience is from when i was much younger and more foolish and was more of the FOP school than MMA. )

FOP = fighting outside pubs  ;)

Lol I had a fop not to long back with another fighter who fights for the same team as me except I could barely stand up lol he ended up with a cabbaged ear, missing 2 teeth and I had my bottom teeth comethrough my bottom lip lol was funny though

lol was funny though

ahh what it is to be young and stupid ;)

I dunno how you guys do it i fell over just once today (admittedly it was on a muddy hillside not a nice comfy ring) and i can barely move now - ive got a lovely blue green black bruise on my shoulder, hip and knee and a 2 inch cut in my left hand where i hit a flint when i put my hand out to break my fall.

back on the subject of cooking rice its the lack of a 'comfy ring' that puts me off the wholemeal idea there too if you get my drift - last time i did i felt like sandpaper coming out

What's rice got to do with cage fighting? ..... Please stay on topic! ;)

I should think the acronym has a quite a bit to do with the aftermath

RICE - rest , ice, compression, elevation

6 pages on how to cook rice! wow.

I havent read them all so dont know if its been mentioned- I did a chinese cookery course once and one thing I learnt on that was to wash the rice thoroughly before starting to cook. This gets rid of excess starch. Keep rinsing the rice in a big pan until the waste water is not cloudy. I fill the pan, then rinse with my hand, drain and repeat, doesnt take long. Then use the 1.5 to 2 cups per 1 cup of rice method, have the gas as low as it will go once its come up to boil and just leave it for 10 minutes(lid on fitting tight). At finish drain off any water left(there shouldnt be any) and fluff up.
