Yes
Hi

Ive taken some baby photos and would like to be able to blur the background and smooth out the babies skin. Just like these ones ive seen on this website.
www.mariamurray.co.uk

Whats the quickest and easiest way to do it?

Thanks

The best way of blurring the back ground is to do it in camera - with the lens wide open the back ground should blur away quite nicely.

Smoothing skin needs to be done in PP.

Hi

Yes it wasnt possible to blur it with my studio lights set up as well couldnt use a higher f stop.

So what is the easiest and quickest way to do it in photoshop afterwards?

The hard part isn't bluring the background, it's selecting the subject first, hair tending to be the tricky bit.
Can you post a pic for us to see what you have?

Hi swansea male

I realise I may sound a bit thick but how do i attach a photo.

you need an on-line account such as Photobucket or Flickr, these are free and easy then to upload images to the site

like the one in my signature (Flickr)

as for the background blur- it can be done using Photoshop- when you post an image Im sure someone will advise on the best way - maybe even me lol

you can either upload an image to your gallery space on here.. or if you use flickr then select 'share' then select 'grab the html/bb code' then copy and paste the code into here

...and you need to tick the 'image editing' box in your sig: My TP>Edit Your Details> Image Editing (it's near the bottom).

There are quite a few auto solutions that may do what you want, but like many auto solutions, they can leave things looking horribly artificial. Getting a handle on Photoshop is well worth the effort. It'll give you a better result - and far more satisfying than just pushing a button!

Was wondering is there an easy way of making the blanket the baby is lying on more blurred. And smoothing out babies skin where they are a bit red and blotchy and the white spots they tend to have. without making it look too touched up. Usually I just tend to use the healing brush on any marks.
