How do threads disappear?

I am sure that threads disappear from time to time. How does this happen? Accepting that mods will remove threads for legal reasons, can members ask for their threads to be removed, can members ask for other people's threads to be removed? I have looked for two threads from the recent days and they do not seem to be there.

Depends how recent :) And what are your settings set to? I only see threads from the last week unless I change it :)

Only spam threads get nuked into orbit.

Naughty threads go to a special place in the Staff Dungeons where the very naughty threads live.

Apart from that, we don't delete threads...only edit and close ;)

I've everything set to forum default.

Thanks for the information. Reads like what I would expect from a well moderated forum.

I find if I reply to a thread, it disappears from the "New posts" search until someone else posts on it.

You don't even need to post in it for that, as soon as you look at it it is no longer "new" to you, so it wont appear again on the "new posts" search until there is a new post ;)

I thought it was down to the twiglet zone do do do do. LOL

I don't know what's more scary, the fact that you wrote "do do do do" or the fact that I heard it as you meant it.
