How do I set up duncan@duncan.tiscali etc?

Hi,
I would like to set up an email account just for my togging stuff rather than use my personal one. I am with Tiscali at the mo but that doesn't need to an issue.
I would like to end up with something like duncan@photography.virgin.net or whatever.

easiest way is to buy a domain name. Some hosts will give you a free email forwarding account, or for a little more you can buy webspace as well.

You should ask tiscali then.... but I really doubt will be possible set something like
duncan@photography.something.com

they do not allow subdomain to themself for email of course, but you can register a new email account with them or someone else.

you can try to register something like
dunkan-photography@something.com

Well more often than not in the UK, your webhost provides you with website and your address will be photography.isp.com where photography is your username.

With my local ISP this is also the case so I have email@username.isp.co.uk

Tiscali only offer xxx@tiscali.co.uk, but you do get 5 accounts, so providing you aren't using them all already for the rest of your family, then use one of those...

Buy a domain from 123-reg or similar

Setup email forwarding from new domain to your existing e-mail address (each provider will operate slightly differently, but it should all be via an online control panel)

Job done.

That's how I do it, I've got three separate domains forwarding to my NTLworld email account :-

Business
Photography
Personal

it also means that when you move ISP you just change the forwarding address
