Yes
I know there is a silver catch on top of the back which pushes to the right but how do i actually disconnect the back from the camera? I know it must be something simple????

Is the darkslide in?

On my 500CM you put the darkslide in, slid the catch and pivoted the back from the top and then lifted it off the lugs at the bottom of the body. I would be surprised if it was any different on the 503.

Darkslide is in and im holding the silver spring catch (on top of the back) towards the right but it does not want to lift off.

I had that problem yesterday taking the focussing screen out of a Mamiya 645.

Luckily t'internet came to my rescue and I downloaded a manual.

Two minutes later, one clean screen. (It was utterly filthy!)

My slightly obsessive compulsive routine for removing the back is to fully insert the darkslide, pull it out slightly and then push it firmly fully home again before touching the release button.

This is because in my experience it is totally unforgiving of a darkslide that is even slightly out of position.

I probably lug too many backs around with me and while it can look a bit scruffy they all have big bits of masking tape stuck to them on which I write what is inside and if the film is being pushed or pulled along with any other notes I feel the need for. When the film comes out the masking tape is stuck to the roll so that it gets processed as I had intended.

I think it's funny how you have a Bronica and Hassy

What backs and lenses do you have for the SQ-A?

The Bronica was my first MF SLR and when I got the 'Blad I kept it as a second/backup camera for weddings etc. I have kept it now partly out of sentiment and partly for the very rare occasions when I want to do 6x6 close up work as I have the bellows for it and can't justify the expense of the 'Blad ones.

I have 4 x 120 backs and a Polaroid back.

As for the glassware I have the 80mm f/2,8m, the 150mm f/4.0, the 50mm f/3.5 and the 35mm f/3.5.

35mm f/3.5 :wave::wave:

If you ever want to sell it :lol::lol:

Hang on while I look out of the window........

Sadly I can't see any pigs flying past and Satan does not appear to be skating to work today
