How Do I Remove Glow?

I took this photograph a couple of days ago after deciding to have an attempt at shooting light trails.

As a first attempt i'm fairly happy with it, however, there is an obvious glow in the centre foreground which comes from a street light on the bridge from where I was standing.

Using Photoshop CS6, does anyone have any advice on how I could remove this and, also, improve the colour of the sky?

My 5 min effort... I'm not quite sure what you wanted to do with the sky though

but on reflection, maybe I shouldn't have posted my amateurish attempt

Happy to explain what I have done but it's probably not the desired result :D

Edit, my apologies, I see you haven't ticked 'edit', let me know if you want me to remove it.

Thanks for that...

Do you mind me asking what tools you used in Photoshop to remove that glow?

I appreciate it's not a particularly good photograph in terms of composition, however, i'm really interested in getting to grips with Photoshop.

I'm hoping to get out a bit more over the next few days. The photograph above was taken on my second day out with a DSLR so to say i'm an amateur is a bit of an understatement.

Thanks again.

Edit: As for the sky, i've got no idea what i was talking about either. :)

ok, well at the risk of being flamed by the forum PP experts!

I created a polygon mask over the whole of the central reservation, heavily feathered the edges (Select --> refine edges), then adjusted the red curve.
Did the same again on the tree bank to the left.

did a magic wand on the sky, expand by 2 pixels and just did a curve adjust for RGB to slightly lighten it.

I did have to go back to adjust the oncoming lane as it went slightly blue with the red channel decrease... so I used the eraser at 45% opacity and "30" hardness (so quite soft) and just ran down the lane, basically trying to blend it back into the central reservation without getting any red back in the frame.

So it really wasn't very technical I'm afraid, but I'm still very much a relative newbie to CS6 myself.
