Right, I recently changed my camera settings from shooting on JPG to shooting RAW, I use a Canon EOS 1100d but when I went to open it in Adobe Photoshop CS2 (the legal free one) it wouldn't open, it's a CR2 file if that's any help. Oh and I'm using Windows 7.

Thanks in advance!

You can't open 1100d raw files in CS2, unfortunately CS2 will open early RAW files from Canon and can't be updated.
I'm guessing I will be shooting in JPG until I actually get some money to buy a newer Photoshop. Thanks for telling me that.

ok go to adobe and get there dng converter and then convert the raw file to dng will work ok then

Install the DPP that came on the discs with your camera. That will handle your raw files.

You should be able to download off the Canon site.

Thanks to all above for the help. I downloaded the stuff that would be on the disc from the link haggis put up. I can now access/edit my CR2 (RAW) files. Thanks everyone! :)

Canon DPP is quite good, but I find the workflow prohibitively slow compared to Lightroom, which is what you maybe want to look at ideally.
