Right me and my mum was wondering how we go about selling my photo's in a shop without having to print them out all the time (By providing a disk with the image(s) on) and them using a specialist company or there own equipment ?

Thanks in advance
Ben

You can try selling on stock libraries. There are companies out there that print greetings cards in bulk etc,do you have any local attractions?I had great success selling images through a parish church of there building, they had a commission so everyone was happy.Be forward promote *** you do mate.GOOD LUCK

Thanks mate, we have a few good attractions like the nene valley railway, Cathedral shopping centre (I did get a good picture near x-mas) football ground (league one soon/now :woot:) ermm the lido a fair few really. I will enquire when i get the time.

without meaning to sound like a grumpy sod, i wouldn't get your hopes up too much about selling your pics, after all, wouldn't we all want to sell our images, i'd dare say i've got a nice collection of photos too, but it's a VERY competitive market out there and it's also very hard to get into it, ask the ones who have cracked it. As Aps said, your best bet is selling stock photos but even then, you need hundreds of stock photos and you need to be uploading all the time to be making much money at all.

Yeah i understand all that, its just in the future when i get better if i get better i want to start selling them...

Selling to stock agencies is not easy, and the returns can be variable to say the least.

May I suggest another approach. Look at selling specialist images to specific outlets. Look at maybe a local animal rescue trust.Picture post cards may be the way to go. People like pictures of cuddly cats and winsome dogs. OK it's probable that you'll need to get images printed, I don't really think there is any way round that. But you may be able to cut a deal with the charity. They pay for the printing , then you get a percentage of the take. If nothing else it helps hone you photographic skills. Look at other outlets as well, and make similar approaches. Don't forget you can get some cracking print deals at many supermarkets nowadays.

If you are going to approach such an organisation, have some sample images to show them. Have a hunt round some gift shops who sell Picture Cards and see what type of images they sell. ( Don't forget to look at Birthday and greetings cards for inspiration)

One tip.. Don't get disappointed if you get knocked back, the first time or second or third.Try and find out why and see if there is anyway round the problem. ( If they have no money that could be a deal breaker though. )

Good luck
