I've seen a few photos like the one below and really love the processing on it. I think it works for a lot of different subjects. Just wondering how this is achieved? I currently use Aperture but I'm looking to move to Lightroom in the near future. Can anyone help?

I'm no expert but I use LR and have played around with some of the 'preset' styles one like this being 'vintage' or 'aged' photo.

Can you not download presets for Aperture? You can download a free month's trial of LR?

The ivy's making a mess of that house but the processing does suit the picture.

Perfect Effects > Antique > Autochrome Neutral will get very close straight away - and probably spot on with a bit of tweaking.

Perfect Effects is part of onOne's Perfect Photo Suite - available for LR but at a price.

nik software analog efex pro will produce similar as well but you have to pay for that

Yes, Analog Efex Pro > Cameras > Classic Camera 6 or 8 (Lens Vignette off) both get close too and probably spot on again with tweaking.

You can download the free version of Perfect effects 8 from HERE

This is a quick play using the preset as above with a little adjustment to the highlights.
