I know there is a short cut to insert the 'c' for copyright into an image or text document - something like Ctrl + ?????

Can anyone enlighten me please - I promise to write it down this time.

Thanks

.....I am sure it is 169 or something - me thinks

that ctrl 0169 thing doesn't work for me - I guess I'd copy and paste it! LOL

if your on a normal windows keyboard, press and hold the ALT key and type 0169 while it's held down.

If your on a laptop, you might need to also press the Fn key too.

oh cos I'm on a laptop then I don't have a numeric keypad... you need to press the digits on the numeric keypad so holding down alt and pressing 0169 will do it only if you use the numeric keypad I guess. Am i making any sense this late?

Hey and guess what I found - for those of us using XP press start, all progs, accessories, system tools and character map and you have every character right there. ;-)

Aha! Alt 0169 works. © Thanks Guys

○ what is this? that was what i got when i used the fn key too lol

© © shift & Alt then type 0169 from the right hand key pad NOT the numbers at the top

None of those work on my laptop

your not hitting it hard enough

do you see the number pad area of the keyboard?

you need to press whichever key activates the number pad.....on dells, it's labeled as Fn or function at the same time as you press alt and your chosen numbers

Or use the Character Map: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools (on Vista anyway)

Loads more fun to be found there ;)

You can Also increase the size like any other font character too :D

I think I need to get a hammer, none of those are working :bang:. Tried all sorts of combinations of alt, shift, ctrl and the fn key, can get the numbers to appear when using the function key but no symbols. Crappy HP laptop:bang:

Laptop users will probably have to switch on the function keypad first.

On my Toshiba laptop I have to press Fn-F11 to switch on the function keys then I can use Alt-0196 or whatever. Then it has to be switched off using the same Fn-F11

Tried it this morning and didn't work, I'm in work at the mo, if I get time I'll mess around tonight. Promised I would lay some flooring so she might hold me to it :bonk:

I said that above! Same on XP. The easy solution!!! LOL

P.S. IF what I got was a degree sign why wasn't it higher and why isn't it properly round?! weird.... I guess degree signs might have changed since I was at school 9 yrs ago LOL

No it doesn't, look at his post again, it wasn't a degree sign that he posted (unlike the one you did, which was) ;)

And Alt 0186 gives the Masculine Ordinal Indicator º vs ° Degree Sign Alt 0176
