How do I get into HDR?

I've decided I'm going to have a go with HDR.
I currently edit my photo's with Aperture.
Which version of Photomatix should I purchase. There seem to be so many versions........... Full, Lite, Plug In etc.
I'll only be using it occasionally. I have been very impressed with some of the results featured on these pages. I just need some help and push in the right direction.

Anyone any suggestions?

Photomatix is really the software to have with regards to HDR. V4 is the latest and you can download a free trial of any variation.

luminance is good free software.

I tried Luminance and to be honest I wasn't impressed, it seemed to have "issues" filling in blocks of the image with solid colour. Photomatix for me.
