How do I edit in CS5 to get these colours

I love the tones of THIS style of photo.
anyone give me an idea how to edit photos to get this sort of colour in CS5
 
It looks like some kind if vintage style action has been applied, do a Google search but you'll find a lot of the good vintage actions aren't free but you will be able to see them in action on the sites that are selling them.

I use SILVER EXIF PRO by NIK SOFTWARE to convert from colour to various types of B/W.

Not saying it is but it looks a bit like some sort of diluted down cross process almost.

Hi Tim, do you have Lightroom as well? There are a lot of actions for this sort of thing in there plus ononesoftware.com has some free plugs ins for LR that give even more variation I have not had need to use them yet but have played a bit, reading the tutorial helps as they are not quite as straightforward as you might think)
 
What about this....open the pic, duplicate the layer, change top one to black & white, maybe adjust contrast etc. to suit, lower the opacity of that layer to blend with the original to suit, try different blend modes or add a layer mask and paint in or out areas of the mask until you like the look of it.
Many ways of doing things and if this is not what you are after, you may find it useful for another time.

I agree with Joan....maybe after you've done that add a soft lighting colour adjustment of yellow...I always find adding a low saturated yellow helps bring the effect you're looking for..
 
It looks a lot like one of the totally rad actions to me, although I don't use them enough to tell for sure.
You should be able to pretty close with a black and white layer with reduced opaticty and a colour filter layers with a yellow-ish colour and a bit of playing around.
 
I think split toning in Lightroom would be the easiest way to achieve that effect. You could do it in Photoshop by using a Colour Balance adjustment layer and playing with the highlight/shadow tones.
 
Well to me (on an uncalibrated screen) it looks like a sepia (not sure its yellow though layer over the top with reduced opacity.

That's how I'd get a similar effect in using Aperture (I know its not the same programme but the effect should be the same)
 
open your file in photoshop, click layer>new fill layer>solid colour. than choose a soft yellow pastel colour and click ok, change the blending mode to colour and then adjust opacity to suit.
