I thought I had downloaded PT Lens for lens correction jobs. It says it is a plug in. I have gone to Help at the top of Adobe CS2 and down to 'about plug-ins' I can see the PT Lens name there but when I click on it nothing happens.

Any ideas guys?

Is there an entry for it in the Filter menu?

Will there is a grey box with PT Lens on it and the website address, but it doesn't do anything.

Was it a trial you downloaded?

do you have a photo open in CS2 when you go to the filters? also is the image 8bit or 16bit ? most filters only work on an 8bit image :)

Sounds like the trial period has expired so you'll need to buy the full product.

Not a very long trial period Kev as I only downloaded it late last night

Marianne: ummm! I think you have 2 valid points which will have to wait 'til I get home to check. It would have been 16 bit. I am sure I tried to open it without an image open as well. :bang: Thanks

Trial version is only good for 10 images...

Oh! I give up. I go to photoshop help and go to 'about plug-ins' and the only thing that comes up is a grey box with the manufacturers name and details on. I have tried a few. In 8 Bit Tiff format.

What am I doing wrong?

oh I dunno...I use EPP actions and have had no trouble...you sure its nt an action? I'm just going to download it and try it myself...BRB ;)

update: I have installed it and it asked me if I wanted to install it in PS so I'm just going to have a look at it...

update 2: it works fine for me on a 16bit tiff Gilly...perhaps it was the way you installed it? Did the installation process ask you if you wanted to install is to CS2?

Oh no!..... You've gone and done it ..... Marianne now likes the arty effects the corrections give.....

I don't remember. I am not that techy. I just agree to everything as it is downloading. I might try again. :bang:

Thanks.

Oh! Rhubarb, Poo and wee wee. Oh! Marianne, I was going into HELP, about Plug-ins. I have just re-read your first e-mail F-I-L-T-E-R-S!! Doh! it works now :cuckoo::coat:

Ahem - first thing I asked :D

OTTOH

have you checked that is IS in the actual plug in folder in CS2? (on the HD rather than from the menu?) -navigate to the folder on the HD and make sure
-make sure you restarted CS2 after you installed it?
-I suspect there may be a stand alone version as well as the plug in - make sure you installed the right one, -see below - standalone doesn't support some files.

In my experience when something is greyed out, there is soething else I have forgotten - like the format , psd, tiff etc is wrong , or the 8bit/16bit , colorspace etc

Feature Plug-in Standalone
Batch processing Y Y
Correct distortion Y Y
Correct vignetting Y Y
Correct perspective Y Y
Correct chromatic aberration Y Y
Auto-detect make/model Y Y
Adjustable focal length Y Y
Color profiles preserved Y Y
IPTC headers preserved Y Y
XMP data preserved Y Y
16-bit support Y N
TIFF and raw support Y N
Time to process 12mp image 2 secs, 3Ghz dual core

Ahem - first thing I asked :D

I know, I know. Actually, I didn't fully understand your question. You were asking about the 'filter' menu, and my brain was on another motorway under the 'help' menu. Anyway, penny dropped now and all is well. Thanks.

By the way Marianne, what does EPP actions mean?

Thanks Marianne. I understand now. Great link.
