How can I tell if my Graphics Card will work with a bigger monitor?

I currently use a 19" Dell old format, non-widescreen monitor and I'd like to switch to one of the newer Dell 2412/2413 models.

Is there any way I can check to see if my graphics card will be OK to use with one of these? The card I have at the minute is a ATI Radeon HD 5400 Series if that helps at all.

Those monitors have a resolution of 1920 x 1200, which that card will probably run without issue, as from what I can see it supports dual link DVI and HDMI 1.3. Is the card in a laptop or a desktop?

Thanks for the reply Harry, much appreciated. The card is in my desktop.

The reason I asked was that when I open the Control Panel and click on Adjust Screen Resolution, the maximum resolution shown is 1600x1200.

I'd put money on it working fine and supporting that resolution. Your current maximum resolution displayed is the maximum of your current monitor :-)

I had a Radeon HD 2600 and it ran 1920x1200 without any trouble - I think your HD 5400 is a later series so I can't see it being any different.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks again for the help. I'll dive in and get a new monitor.
