How can I change the date/time a photo was digitised?

Being a muppet I thought I'd set the date on my new camera, but alas I hadn't. In Lightroom I can change the date and time of the original, and although it appears there is the option to also change the date and time it was digitised it doesn't let you do it. Is there a way to do this?

Don't know if something like this will help (I've never tried it) ... why do you need to change it?

Thanks. I don't really, it just bugged me that it wasn't right and now I've started looking into it I want to figure it out ;)

You need to edit the exif data as mentioned. Although there are other ways of cataloguing in lightroom, I can see why this would be annoying.

Unfortunately that seems to be windows only. I've tried a couple of others but all I seem to get is a sidecar file rather than changing the original file, guess I'm not computer literate enough to figure it out

I use Bulk Rename Utility. Great little Swiss army knife of a program, and it's free.

Can't you edit the capture time in Lightroom?

Select the images, then in the Metadata menu choose Edit Capture Time.

The images should all be altered relative to the correction you choose.

Remember to do Metadata --> Save Metadata to Files (or ⌘S) after.

Can't you run a Windows VM on your Mac?
You can, but then I'd have to catalogue all my files again. I'd rather get a mac app if I can, but I guess this is an option if not (y)

Apple..... Typical [emoji3]

For a Mac, use 'A Better Finder Attributes' - you can add it as a Service too. They also do 'A better Finder Renamer' for bulk renaming.

Thanks, I'll look into that (y)
