How big is your Photo Folder???

Just for Fun and triggered by a post I just read I thought I would compare my master photo folder image count with other amateurs (pro's will be much bigger i guess)
My LR folder is up to 34567 images (thats since I went digital in 2002)
 
I recently butchered mine down from 15,000 to about 5,000. There was a lot of crap in there that didnt need to be.

My 2011 photo count so far is just over 2000 according to LR.
 
I've taken just over 1300 since I got my new DSLR at the end of March :)
 
I have over one hundred thousand (100,000) published on my website and all for sale :) I also ahve thousands of family pics not on site... Looking at just under 150 thousand
 
Just short of 75,000 pictures (300GB!), stored 3 times - on computer, external disk, and weekly offsite backup external disk. Was always told, if it's digital you only really have it if you have it at least 3 different places!

A lot but the numbers have started accumulating much quicker since I went full time. Im adding about 500 kept shots a week on average. Also backed up in 3 drives, if there isn't 3 copies of a digital only file it doesn't exist is my mantra.
 
I don't delete anything, so I have about 72,600 images taking up 484GB. :eek: :lol: 95%+ of rubbish, but I have a few large HDs so I don't need to delete anything. :shrug: :lol:

I like to see the many mistakes I've made, and I'm able to go back and I'm sometimes able to give some life to a few 'nearly' pics as the technology improves, and I get better at using said technology. ;) :lol:
 
I have about 10,000 images in Lightroom, but I'm pretty ruthless, if I haven't used a picture anywhere after 6 months it gets deleted.

However I do have every image I've ever imported into Lightroom backed up on a couple of external drives, that works out about 400GB.
 
since getting my 30D in 2007 - 476.68 GB on disk (476,565,179,178 bytes) for 51,850 items, minus a couple of hundred for folders.

Not too bad, 7-8000 pics a year. :shrug: I did 1900 in one day a few months ago, so if I start doing that too often my average would go up a bit. ;) :lol:

21,115 .... bound to be some duplicates among them though.

Like some other things in life ................... apparently size isn't important, guys (& girls) .............. it's the quality that counts! (or so others inform me that they've been told!) :D
 
Well at least mine isn't too excessive over 10 yys !!
HOWEVER 1900 images in one day.............................Remind me not to buy
anything pre owned posessing a shutter from that man :D

That 1900 images in a day was out of the ordinary, but very enjoyable. ;)

The camera is supposedly good for 150,000 activations, not that it will ever be sold. ;) :lol: It should see me out. Fingers crossed. :lol:

ive got 29.8GB of photos on an external drive (also backed up on cds and dvds) - i'm not sure how many shots that is but its a lot
 
I have just over 26000 images in Lightroom now at 391GB. I had lots more but went through and deleted thousands of shots. Started in late 2007 I think... I back them up to external drive and sync them to the server but it is a pain putting them on DVDs so I would like to get a bluray writer for a hard copy too.
 
Think i'm on about 75-80gb. That's about 4 years of shooting digital
 
Im on just over 5000 images for 2011 so far...
 
After about 3 years since I got my first camera and almost 1 since I bought my DSLR, I have almost 15000 pictures and almost 50 gbs.
 
I've taken around 90k in the last year (when I got a new laptop and started a new lightroom catalogue)
 
Went trough mine a few months ago, cut them down from 15,000 to 10,000 but im sure i could delete a lot more if i really tried.
 
Mine is at about 40k
 
Just been checking my backups so know mine is just over 33k.
I could never delete any (I don't remember ever throwing away negatives either) and as storage is getting larger and cheaper I don't see a need to.
 
Not including the original images, over the space of two cameras and nearly one yer, I have 3.9Gb. Picasa tells me that I have 1,777 photos, if I included all of the photos I have deleted it would be a lot more!
 
I have about 100GB but I cleared 40GB+ off the laptop over the weekend to external backup and I have about another 40GB to go off the laptop this weekend, all photos that I don't need to have constant access to it should make the laptop run a little bit smoother too ;) files wise I would say in the region of 20,000

Just on my Macbook I have 143294 - That's RAW files and Converted and Processed. I also have just under 1 TB going back to 2002 (plus backups)

One day I will sort through them all.......
 
Haha just checked and i have nearly 58,000 pics since 2000ish.. Im sure a lot of them are crap!
 
This thread prompted me to take a look on the ext h/d. I gave up at 28,000 and they are all pre 2011
Only around 4,000 on the puter
 
Only a 1000 or so. I'm pretty ruthless and delete anything I'm not really happy with.
