Hotmail delivery failures

G'day,

Does anybody know much about emails?

I've had an enquiry through one of my websites (using the contact form, which sends me an email).

She has sent from a hotmail.com address, and whenever I try to reply, I get a failure notice from postmaster@hotmail.com

"Action: failed
Status: 5.5.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable "

I've also tried mailing her via my personal Gmail account, and get the same result.

I'm now off to add a phone number field to my contact form (could've sworn I already had one). But in the meantime, is there anything I can do?

They mis-typed their email address. You could try the .co.uk version of the address, I've seen muppets get confused over that. Otherwise, not much you can do.

I'm in Australia though, I don't think Hotmail do a .com.au (OK, just searched, they do offer that now, never come across anyone using it though). I'll give it a go.

EDIT: No dice. Ah well.

Turns out she spelled her own name incorrectly in her email address. All sorted.
