Evening all :) I'll be going to a gig in London (specifically, Islington area) during the week in late October, and I'm trying to organise a hotel for the night as I will more than likely miss the last train home. Travelodge have plenty of options and I know they're good but I don't really want to be going over the £100 per night mark as most of the inner city ones tend to be! There are cheaper options further away, but I really don't want to be getting the tube/bus too far.

Does anyone know of anything close-ish to Islington that's good, clean and fairly priced? Ideally around £50-60, it doesn't need to be fancy and doesn't need to include breakfast!

I've had a look around and accept that I might just need to suck it up and look at the inner city Travelodge ones, but I figured I'd ask you lot first :)

You could try priceline. I've not used them for ages and not in the UK. The concept is you state the area you want to stay in, how much you to pay, what class of hotel. They then email hotels to see if anyone will accept. Have also used it for car hire.

The drawback is you have to accept whoever offers you the room. Also there was previously a time restriction on how often you could bid, I think it was every 3 days.

Good luck!

we stayed at the Premier Inn on Duke's Road (opposite Euston Sta) and although the website is quoting 'from £112' we only paid £80 and got breakfast.. (this was July this year). It is only 1 mile walk from the Angel at Islington.
