Can anyone suggest a good hotel in Carlisle? I am running an event in Carlisle on the 16, 17, 18 and 19th Feb and require a nice hotel for me and my team for three nights somewhere in/around the city centre.

I have been trawling LateRooms but have not found anything either in budget or that doesn't look like Basil Fawlty's greatest!

Budget is £70 per night - if I can't find anything decent within the city I might have to go Premier Inn... :(

Does have to be a close to the city centre as possible as my event as at the University on Fusehill.
 
The Ibis on Botchergate is cheap and cheerful???

I think I stayed at the Crown & Mitre on a golfing trip, a bit poncey but right in the middle of town.
 
The Crown and Mitre's a good shout - there's also the Swallow Hotel on London Rd, but that's a little further out from the city centre and the 'Uni'!! :D

Good shout - just booked B&B for £69 per night!

Hopefully it's okay. TripAdvisor looks fine.
