Is there anybody other than me that absolutely hates hot weather?

Outside temperature is currently 30C. In the attic bedroom (where this PC is) - almost 40C, and thats with all the windows wide open. :gag:

Can't wait til autumn.

I'm melting too. 33C in the shade in the garden. Don't like it this hot but I like the low 20's.

Could be time for another cold beer I think :)

I am another not liking it.

Fair skin means putting loads of sun block on or just burning to a crisp within 15 minutes.

However, the lifecycle of it means I go red, sore, blister, peel and then back to bottle white again.

The Condensor (Cheap aircon unit) is just doing enough to keep me cool today though while on the machine. However, the rest of the house feels like a sauna.

I seem to get more lethargic the hotter it gets, give me a nice temperate day with a decent breeze.

hahah - wimps - it's 55C here in Afghanistan. My computer has to have a damp cloth laid across it to stop it crashing and I have to wear gloves when I'm working as my cameras get too hot to touch with bare hands.
Any wind that blows brings with it dust storms so severe we have to batten down the tents to prevent them filling up.

30C - I dream of 30C...

Should have seen that one coming.....

:)

Yikes that is hot, i'll just sit here in my A/C office with no work at the moment :D

Comes up witht he argument, ahh but your Humidity is no where near ours so it is more comfortable.

Take that with a pinch of salt as the furthest I have been is Malta.

I'm loving it!

Even Aberdeen was scorching over the last 2 days.
Usually, the Polar Bears wear overcoats up here.

I would gladly live in a hot country.

I get irritable when it's hot like this - just glad I don't have to go to work at the mo :) I could live with it if the temperature stayed in the early - mid 20's, but 30+ is far too hot unless you're lying on a beach!
I went out and bought an aircon unit yesterday for the bedroom - best purchase ever. It was bliss last night with a lovely cool bedroom :D

I carry my fan around with me (no wise cracks lol)...a bit like a security blanket!

Which one ya get MM ?

Eventually one from Homebase after getting two dodgy ones from Argos in the space of an hour. It just says 'Homebase Portable Air Conditioner' on the box. It cost £150, but it was £150 well spent :) You can set the temp you want the room to be and it just works it's magic.

Cool :) very cool even ! lol Ill have to go up homebase and see if they have any left ! The disadvantage of a new build flat, the flippin insulation is great in the winter but summer is baaaaaad ! lol

Agreed - humidity is about 0% at the moment, but wearing full kit and body armour/helmets when out means that you're just drenched in sweat the whole time - my torso has a pickled egg smell to it and my Combat Body Armour (sort of padded waistcoat with ceramic plated front and back) has very nasty salty tide-marks growing and crystallizing at the edges... bluuurgh...
Plus side is that commanders are turning a blind eye to the growing of facial hair - we have more beards than the Taliban here at 3 Para. A welcome morale boost - everyone's competeing for the most outrageous 'full-set' - officers are going for the Spanish Don look, while many of the Toms are going for Pancho-Villa 'Gringo' moustaches. Jason King taches are also in evidence. It looks like a Village People benefit gig with automatic weapons.

Shouldn't laugh... but

I feel really sorry for you guys. I went to the Army show at the weekend and saw how hot and uncomfortable all the squaddies looked then, and that was just a few hours in the sun.

oh my.....I feel for you guys.....you are doing a great job Arky, those photos are stunning, very moving in fact

All groovy here - very warm but mah-oooosive windows keep things breezy :D

You get it from me, I've got one on the back of my hand and back of the arm. B'stards of things, when my finger started going purple had to go to the doc yesterday to get the ring I've had for about 20 years cut off :annoyed:

I don't like this hot weather at all:shake:

HOT here too, so hot that after 9 yrs here my fella went out and bought an air con unit NOOOOO working though, have to get an engineer out...waiting on phone ringing. Even the well water that supplies the outside shower is warm  no respite from it, feel for you guys in forces, must be hell.

hmmm, I love the hot weather but the downside has been that I've been driving around a lot today and working in houses that are non-occupied, so not been ventilated!!!!! Best one smelt of rancid milk. eurgh. Nissan Micra is very basic no electric anything, not even a fag lighter but for some strange reason it has aircon, being a 1 litre though it doubles the fuel consumption having it on! lol.

Well I loooove the hot weather myself! Can't ever get too hot for me to be honest. I don't have air conditioning in my home simply by choice. Constant battle between hubby and I,lol  It was 36 degrees here yesterday too, but with the humidity it felt much higher, very sticky. Summer is too short over here though so I enjoy the hot weather very much so! If it's too hot, find a fun way to cool down! It's great! :D

Mind you.........I don't have to work in the heat, as of yet. Will be changing soon though. :D

too hot here, my daughters room is 29-30 during the night, so she keeps waking up and we have to give her a drink, to get her off. (she's two btw). so hot and tired. :(

Still. I know we will have one day of rain and all us brits will be maoning that we never get a decent summer ;)

Well at the office its approaching 40c, no air con :(
I do however have an AirCON unit at home i bought for £200 ish 3-4 years ago.

For any wondering "should i", just dont. Just go buy one. They are ridiculously good ;)

I'm just glad I'm not still Baking. The last one I worked in had insufficent hot-air extraction and no airconditioning, it was on the second floor, suspended metal ceiling below a metal roof. If anybody knows anything about commercial baking, we use a helluva lot of steam :( Temperature was between 45 & 50c and the humidity was stupid. It's very hard making bread when it's hot as there is no way to control the yeast activity and things get very sticky very quickly.

funtastic!

Grrrr
I work in a unventilated warehouse whose roof seems to be the equivilent of a greenhouse can't even open the bloomin great warehouse doors "for security reasons".

Tomorrow when it gets even hotter I'm gonna punch the first fool to come out of his air con office to the warehouse and remark "oh its a bit hot in here isn't it?"

'Oooo, it's bit hot in here isn't it?!'

:D
