Hope's Project 52 (2011) Week 7 Finally added!

I have been thinking for a week and couldn't come up with anything, I thought I'd better post something though :D Bring on week 2!

i'm liking this, ... i think its the way the door is slightly ajar and the glow of the inside. But also the way the rich brickwork leads to the door
 
I like this too :)

I think I might have liked to see the 'press' sign on the doorbell a little more prominently and in focus.

It's a very interesting angle, and I like the door being ajar :)

Thank you, I didn't want to close the door because I thought the light creeping through would be more welcoming. I also love these bricks, they are very rich like you said and a proper brick! Not like what you find now :D

Thanks alot HopefulM. I was trying to get the doorbell as much as poss but I couldn't go above F8 handheld and its all rubbed off too being so old! :)

Nice, looks very warm and welcoming. Not a fan of tilted horizons, but this works really well here

Nice slant on the image. IMHO.

You could have justshot the door but it looks like you have framed it well .. Main focus on the doorbell and the door in the shot in the b/g

I meant it's a nice slant on the theme. " pun intended"
You could have just shot a front door and said accomadation.!!!! But you thought about it and put the slant on it.....

The door being slighty open."ajar" does not help imho

Haha, yeah thats better. There is actually another reason for the door being open, I'll let you work it out ;)

Brave that is correct :D Someone had gone out and left me keyless, and the porch is coooold!
 
I thought Week 1's theme was bad, haha. This one really is open to interpretation! Good luck all :D
 
This is a great shot and the angle of the picture gives it extra interest - really like it.
 
Week 2

This was hard to take for me!! It is my new camera, sad time for me moving on from my trusty 40D that has been an absolutely cracking camera! Hope you like it.

Really nice DOF and lighting. Did you use another camera or play about with mirors?
 
Thank you, no luckily my 40D is still with me so it was shot with that!

I am trying to view all threads from members taking part in this years 52, so doing a catch up here.

Sorry I didn't get to reply on your week 1 yet.

So here goes.....

First of all well done! I think you are doing well.

Week 1: I like the angle at which you have taken this photo, I like angled shots. The contrast in the brickwork is great and the whole image is very inviting.

Week 2: Wow! Love the DOF and the angle from which you have taken this shot. In a strange way, I also really like the way you have caught the softness of the right and sharpness of the left.

Well done and I look forward to seeing your image next week.

Both nice, love number 1 and the DOF on 2. Great work fella :)

Thread bookmarked, ill be back :) Wish i could join in myself but ive got to sell my sony stuff first and buy some canon L glass :p ... cant wait for your 50D (sorry, my 50D :)) to turn up :) Pulled a sicky tomorrow so can wait in for it :D

Ill tune in for next weeks entry :)
