Honeymoon suggestions

As NZ is out, which would have been my number 1 another place you could consider is Tanzania.

Safari one week, Zanzibar Island (I know you said you don't like beach etc) but the island is meant to be interesting + some great diving off it.

Canada is somewhere I've always wanted to go and seems like everyone loves it!

Yeah shame NZ is out, been there twice and it has everything canada has but condensed into a smaller space making it easier to see it all.

We went to Sri Lanka last year on a tour and I can honestly say it's the best holiday we've ever had. A nice mix of things to do and relaxing by pools etc.

We went with this company, but they do trips everywhere

Norway.

Just an evening bump before I go off to camera club.

Come on evening people, give it your best suggestions.

Well, I'm getting married in July and we still haven't decided where we want to go on our honeymoon.
We're not really "sit on a beach all day" type of people and would rather be out and about doing stuff.

We're open to any suggestions, unless there to somewhere ridiculously hot as I don't do very high temperatures.

Obviously we will be taking our cameras so somewhere with lots of dramatic scenery would be good.

So far we've come up with northwest Australia and Canada, but like I said, please give me lots of suggestions because it's probably best that we get it sorted reasonably soon!;):D

i think your mountains and woods areas will be fine
i immediately thought of norway...but thats because its within easy reach..

Some great photo opportunities in Havana

My wife and I did a week in India, then a week in the Maldives. You could always just drop the beach week and spend two weeks in India! We both had such a fantastic time that we want to go back; there's just so much to see you could spend a lifetime there.

Tenerife......beaches to mountains, forests to volcanoes ( albeit extinct ), B&Bs to 5*
its got everything!!

What about India or Kenya? ..... Both truly amazing places and so much to see and do

We did Safari followed by Zanzibar - was the perfect combination

The Isle of Sheppey... tropical weather, waving palm trees, beautiful blue seas, white sand, friendly natives... oh hang on, the natives aren't particularly friendly :D

I was born and raised on that dirty island. thankfully my parents weren't

For my honeymoon, I booked a Kuoni trip that took in Hong Kong (3 days)and Bangkok (3 days) sightseeing with a relaxing beach holiday n Phuket (7 days) to finish it off.

In my opinion, the far east is one of those places you will rarely go to unless it is a special occasion. It is a totally different culture to teh US and Europe and therefore makes for something special and memorable.

Another place to consider is Uruguay !

I haven't been there but a coleague at work has just come back from a holiday there and he says it is one of the best places on earth. He even said it is one of the few places he would consider buying a holiday home in !!

Bear in mind, this guy lives in Chamonix, France (so beautiful scenery is an every day thing for him) and he has travelled extensively.

He liked it for its beauty, unspoilt, paradise like beaches and the friendly people.

A few years ago my wife and I went to Brazil and it was amazing! !

very very true --- but dont go to a place like Brazil where you will 90% have "tummy trouble" as I did

or Morocco on my honeymoon - yes the "trots" got me there too......:gag:

China no no no..too many everyday hassles getting about
HongKong - yes yes yes

100% western Canada ....19years in Vancouver and 1 on Manitoba
Banff and Jasper are superb............

Monaco via Nice. you could even use the helicopter transfer from Nice airport if you feel generous and don't want to run around looking for trains or buses. Can be done on a budget airliine too (not including the helicopter transfer which you have to book separately in advance or when you arrive at Nice airport).
I went just to take in Monaco and look at the streets that make up the F1 circuit and marina. I didn't go there on a race day or for a honeymoon, but I would go back again, it is a beautiful and friendly place.

Japan?

Mt Fuji, Tokyo and a lot of scenery. Somewhere i've always wanted to go. Plus fact of of an abundance of kit to be had too :D

My wife and I went to Borneo. Fantastic for wildlife, got plenty of terrible pics of wild orang utans, flying snakes , baby turtles and large creepy crawlies, not to mention the jungle walks and tree top walk ways. Loved it!
