Hey guys,

I'm planning on making a small Softbox attached directly onto my flash for some macro photography, and just wondered if anyone could suggest the best material for the diffusing screen?

I know that milk bottles or similar is one option, but I think I may need a larger sheet size; have also heard someone mention kitchen towel?

I wondered if a white Patton sheet would be best?

I'm not dead set on it being a reclaimed material, I'm quite happy to buy, but I just wondered what is the best thing technically to get even, well distributed light?

Thanks loads in advance,

Jay.

I got a small softbox on eBay for under £5.00. I think the size of the diffuser is 10cm x 12cm.

I used a white shower curtain for mine - works great but does introduce a slight colour cast (it warms things up a bit)

Here's version 1, I've made a much bigger version since (about A4 size)
