Home Studio Build

Hi Peter.

The studio is finished now. We're putting a decking area outside of it at the moment.
I've had a few shoots in there to work out lighting etc. not really a big fan of white b/g's, but people love them. I'm trying to get people to go for a bit of greyness to it for interest. The infinity curve works great.
I've put a few photos in PEOPLE AND PORTRAITS section under the title WE ARE THE MODS.
Feel free to take a look. Feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers
Dean :)

A bit of a thread revival.

Just some maybe useful info.
After using my studio a lot, and structures settling etc, I found some small cracks appearing in the joins of the infinity curve. They didn't show up too bad so was a simple one click fix in pp.
However, I didn't want them there so decided to buy some polyfilla flexible no more cracks type stuff. It was ok for a short while, then the cracks showed again.
I have now found that GRIPFILL is the best stuff. But, put on extremely thinly as it does not like being sanded at all.
That's it really, only useful if you're building a curve. GRIPFILL is £1.99 a tube compared to £7.99 for the other stuff.

Dean.

Interesting read Bascules comment re planning & commercial use, it's worth keeping in mind.
3-5 ears ago there was a guy on one of the photographer/model sites who had converted his front room into a nice little studio. However when he started advertising it online as a hire facility to other photographers the council noticed & caused him all sorts of problems so he had to convert it back to a front room & got hit with a bill for several years business rates.
