Thats interesting. Seen as its a canon user who's doing it.

Yep. I keep one in my "quick walkaround bag" for when I wouldnt normally take a tripod or monopod (around city centre etc).
I made it from a head cut from an old/cheap/shaky monopod and looped the stretchy string through a flat bottle opener.
Very handy and very quick to set up and put away.
