Anyone been on a photography holiday, here or abroad? I mean one with instruction thrown in, not a private one. If so, was it worth it and any recommendations?

I took a trekking week with light and land this time last year in Picos de Europa, nothern Spain. It was more about the trekking for an area i hadn't visited before. Not cheap, but very well run. Also, I would call it photography 'guidance' rather than instruction.

Given the company is owned by three of the current premier landscape photographers in the UK, the guidance is very good. However, it made me realise I know what to do in most occasions and the most important thing for me to learn was that what I already do is correct. It's often a matter of properly scouting to find the right location which rarely happens by accident, and to be very prepared and organised for sunrise and sunsets as the time you have is very short. Even after all of that, there is no guarantee to capture what you have in your mind's eye until the right elements of nature come together.

This might be worth you looking at www.photographyholidayspain.casa-blanca-rural.com/, no formal instruction if you definitely want that - but guidance and location advice all in. When are you thinking of going?

Cheers,

Neil (I have a vested interest - its part of our Guest House, Walking Holiday and Photography Holiday set up ;))
