Hi all. how do u approach and go about taking holiday pics when on holiday with friends/family?

Do you tell everyone to pause for a moment while you capture a shot or do you drag others to a certain please purely to capture a specific shot, Or do u just take shots as you go along?

i personally do both as i do not want to be a chore amongs family/friends but i also do want to capture something unique that i simply cant do when im back home and at a place where i most likely will never return again.

Thoughts?

Fit photography round the holiday not the other way round. It's always worked for me!

My holiday shots are split between my 'creative' stuff of the landscape/archtecture of the area and people/family shots, which I prefer to be candid rather than posed as I think the atmosphere of the trip is caught this way.

Enjoy the holiday with family then take a shot! Unless will miss a lot of fun.

Do both, I manage it. Your family are more likely to appreciate the photos of them posed in front of landmarks and as a group on the beach, in the bar etc. than the 'arty ones'.
