Hello,

I've got a weekend free in mid July.

Can anyone recommend a European City, say within 2 hours flying time from London which I should visit for some great photography.

I mainly do landscapes, morning/evening, but also looking for something abit different to London landscape.

I've had Istanbul, Copenhagen & Madrid recommended so far, but what's your view?

Thanks

Simon

Istanbul is outside your 2 hours time limit. I think Barcelona is a great place, you have the Gaudi buildings, the beach, the Ramblas etc.

ANother vote for Barcelona, and my other would be Florence.

Venice :) It's a very unique city and will give very different results to london :p Although that may be out of your time limit!

There are some lovely locations in Provence - St Remy and surrounding areas. Lots of Landscape opportunities there. Flights to Marseille or Nimes quite good.

I'd agree with any of the above but just to put one in out of the ordinary (and slightly outside your 2hrs flight time)..... how about Stockholm, Sweden?

Sadly when I went I didn't have a digital camera but I will be sure to go back now I have.

Richard.

Less than 2 hours flight time, Prague!

Edinburgh is a great place and the city center can be full of anyone but "jocks".

How about Lisbon? Maybe just a little over 2 hours but not much more. Or like someone else has said Prague...or Paris??

Just back from Krakow cannot recommend it enough, lovely place, cheap isnt the word, lovely sights and of course Auschwits/Birkenau. Deffo going back asap.

Would that be Yanks instead then

It was a joke, Scotland (jncluding Edinburgh) is a great place to visit as can be seen from recent threads!

Still rather go to Prague though!

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to reply. You've come up with some great suggestions - especially the south of France region.

Agree with Edinburgh, great city.
Only just found out Istanbul is 5 hours away.
Prague/Vienna/Lyon sound promising.

I shall now investigate your suggestions.

Simon

Rome is 2 hours ish and a great place if you want buildings. If you did want closer to home, Cambridge is a great place, tourists and students, loads of lovely colleges, river and punting..

what about the other way?, west coast of ireland is supposed to be beautiful?.

You are more than welcome to join us on the 19th near Norwich for our day out on the Norfolk Broads!
