Looks like Pentax, maybe others can confirm.

No, doesn't look right for Pentax to me. I had a scooby at Rick Oleson's guide and also the KEH Camera blog guide, the latter sort of suggested some Canon to me (mainly the red dot in the middle of the longish flange at the top) but it didn't look quite right.

[EDIT: quite a lot of the cheaper lenses I see are Minolta mounts, perhaps because they don't fit much these days?]

thanks for the links, i think it might be a contax mount, anyone with experience with them?

I don't think it's Contax\Yashica mount as it doesn't look exactly like mine as there is a notch in one flange.

Thanks Brian, I just looked again, couldnt put it down since i bought it really :P

I think it might be a pentak K mount judging from the "locking notch" and the positions of the aperture pins in comparison to the one here - http://www.kehblog.com/2011/12/lens-mount-guide-part-1.html

not sure why there is a red dot there, it was a bit of a red herring :D

Well my Rikenon lenses (which are Pentax K) have a red dot and there is a red dot on the camera so you know when mounting where to insert the lens. So it might be for a Ricoh camera.
BTW I don't have a Pentax K camera but knew the Ricoh took Pentax K lenses.

I think every SLR lens I own regardless of make or mount has a red dot!

Steve.

Well Steve I think Kyle mentioned the red dot on the inside, and the two Pentax lenses I have don't have this and quite a few others makes don't either.

I'm going to have to go and look now! I'm sure I have owned Pentax lenses with red dots though.

In the first pic I thought the red dot was in the middle of a long flange (which was why I was sceptical about it being a Pentax fit), but in the second pic it's clearly at the right hand edge of a short flange. In fact, the mount looks almost exactly like the mount of the Pentax-M lens I just checked, with a red dot in the exact same location, and the 3 flanges looking just right. The two minor differences are that the inner raised element at 2 o'clock in the second pic looks level while on mine it is stepped, and that your lens has a white tab at 7 o'clock, while on mine there is a slot but no tab. That tab may (?) be to communicate aperture to the lens, so perhaps it's a Pentax-A equivalent. Does the aperture ring have an A setting?

Anyway, definitely looking like a Pentax-K mount to me.

Thanks mate :) all three flanges look the same size to me? The red dot is indeed on the edge of a flange, and the white tab was just a reflection from the torch I was using to light it, i think it's more of a slot for a mechanical connection of some sort, it moves with the aperture ring. The aperture ring does not have an A setting.

A Pentax K adapter should fit regardless of what version the mount is right?

That's right. But I think that for some more modern cameras, digical and stuff, you may have to meter stopped down which could be a faff. However I've never tried my Pentax-M lenses with more modern cameras (as I don't own any)...

@ChrisR Its not that difficult - you just set the green button to 'shutter speed', go into M mode, set the aperture you want on the lens, hit the green button (which momentarily stops down the lens to meter and provide a shutter speed for the aperture) and then press the shutter. Essentially its just the same as aperture priority mode, you just need to press the green button to meter before taking each shot.

Maybe pentax k mount? I have used a 135mm f2.8 on an eos with crop sensor - it was possible but focus was't easy.

This might be of interest to the polaroid users on here - Fujifilm FP-100C Instant film (Dated 8/14) £9.95 from Mathers of Lancashire. Link here

By way of a second introduction (I came here many moons ago with a Praktica BCA, then got distracted... :sorry: ) I thought I'd mention the EOS300 that I picked up from a charity shop on Monday. I know they're not worthy of as much respect as the other hardware here, but hey, I like it!
There was a grubby camera bag hanging on a hook behind the counter with "Canon camera - £10" on the label: I thought it was worth a punt, and it turned out to contain said eos, in mint condition with original receipt, manual, strap etc. Only a kit lens with it, but nothing's jammed and the LCD screen works, so I'm happy :) (it doesn't take much).

Well I didn't get a Nikon F100, but a F90X with Nikkor H C 50mm f2 lens...for £10. Seems to be working on initial test but horrible sticky back......If I'm right the Nikkor 50mm lens was for Nikon F as it wont fit on my F-401.
The guy next to me bought a Nikon auto winder for £5 and think he said it fitted a FE. Also nice Lunasix 3 I thought would be worth a £1 as there was no way of testing it as the battery was flat, anyway said to the guy "not working, might not even work with a battery etc etc" but he still wanted £10 ........ too much of a gamble.

Forgot for you collectors:- Zorki 4 with Jupiter lens, but it wouldn't fire pressing the shutter button, there might have been a simple answer, and maybe would have got it dirt cheap because of this problem......but didn't bother.

It's important with a Zorki to adjust the shutter speed only after you've wound on, otherwise you risk breaking the mechanism. If it won't fire after being wound on, chances are that it's broken and the repair will end up costing more than the camera is worth. Might have been worth a punt for the lens though, they're quite popular for use on CSCs.

That's what I thought as I remembered that someone mentioned about this silly design fault. Also the F90x seems to work perfectly but didn't know before, at the boot sale, as the batteries were nearly flat....well in goes a Poundland film ;)

Impulse buy without knowing much about it, other than the lenses fit my Sony SLT:

Minolta SPxi, Sigma UL 70 to 210mm, Sigma DL 35 to 80mm, Miranda flash, bag, two rolls of film, new battery, and instruction book.

All in great working order, though the rubber casing on the shorter lens is a bit sticky. Easy enough to sort out though :)

£35 the lot at Tynemouth Station market.

if anyone is near Perth (Scotland), the cancer research in the middle of town has a minolta body with a flash and a kit lens attached (£20) and a 135mm 2.8 (£10 iirc) in fairly to very clean condition, i only had a quick check, i didnt buy it as im with OM and already have a 135mm 2.8 waiting an adapter

At the bootie last week the Zorki 4 was there minus the Jupiter lens, this week it has what looks like a very small Wray super 4 1/2 enlarging lens fitted :p

Olympus XA. 35mm lens, f2.8, an actual rangefinder, it's tiny, and according to the internet, has an excellent lens. Not bad for . . . £1 at a charity shop. Just need the batteries to see if it works now.

Edit: It says s76 silver-oxide batteries - just to confirm, LR44 is the current equivalent, right?

Mine f90x had sticky back when I bought it. Clean it with nail polish cleaner or something like that. It must be what is happening to rubber back over years.

I wish I would have any car boot sales anywhere close to me :(

The material is still there and what I did was spray it with silicon dashboard cleaner and that worked. Yes boot sales are great for lots of useful things, but you still have to be lucky and be at the right place at the right time, as there is no guarantee anything interesting would turn up for weeks (I had to wait about a year for something old I wanted)...and then someone might have bought what you wanted five minutes before you. :(

At the bootie sunday I looked into a box and saw a Chinon CM-3 with jammed wind on, so thought it was worth a gamble for £1 but back at home couldn't get it working properly so in the bin it went. Anyway I thought for £3 this lot was reasonable as the grip bracket looks better than the old fold up one before on my 6X7, also I didn't need them but two shutter releases, a polarizer and ser-VII 67mm adapter of some sort.

Friend of mine bought f100 in pristine condition for £60... lucky git;)

H'mm I gave up trying to get a F100 for about £60, so bought a F90x at a boot sale and saved a lot of money ;)

I swapped f90x for f100 and have to say it's much nicer :)

One guy wrote that the F90x is a tougher camera, so more reassuring throwing it in my back pack with other stuff ;)

On the left, a Pentax espio 105sw, a present from my mother from a charity shop in West Wales. Slow lens, but it's AF and it has a 28-105 zoom and and aluminium shell (plastic back though) and looks rather nice. Something handy to throw in my jacket pocket without worrying about it.

On the right, a Kershaw Eight-20 Penguin folder. I helped an old lady out with her computer problems, and refused payment until she said "you like cameras, don't you?" She bought this for her late husband's 21st birthday in about 1952. It's in very good condition. Two apertures (f11, f16), focus from 6 feet to infinity, one shutter speed (1/50 I think) and a bulb setting. 120 film. And a surprise - when I opened it up, there was a roll of Boots 120 in it already - exposed. When I finally get my home dev kit going, I'll give that a go. Might be a nice surprise for her if there's anything salvagable on it.

Bought a nice Vivitar series 1 (Tokina) 70-210 f3.5 plus Pentax A 35-70mm at the bootie...nearly have a Pentax set as I now have 24-35, 35-70 and 75-150mm  Do I need them even at a bargain price? Nah just something to play with ;)
