Random post really, and I'm hoping this is in the right place (not an experienced forumer.... Yet :D) but does anyone else find they have far too many hobbies than there is time in the day?

How do you prioritise, it's impossible.

I wanna spend time learning photography techniques, photoshopping, playing bass in a band, music recording on my computer, cycling/exercise, studying toward exams etc and there are even more things I want to do, but I end up struggling to pick between them and end up doing nothing!

Most peoplle say if they won the lottery they'd still work as they'd get bored, but I can honestly say I'm an exception to this.

Thats sounds so familiar, work gets in the way of all the things i want to do.

I;ve never understood these people that do the lottery and say they would carry on working if they won, WHY DO THE LOTTERY THEN????

Don't neglect the studies though:nono: ,as that part supplies the money for the goodies.:D

Funny thing is that I actually quite enjoy the studying, but it's very time consuming. They're not compulsory exams, they're just things I'm doing to improve my career and back up the skills used in my job. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy my job (sad as it seems), but I think on balance a lottery win would be much better :D

Lol well I'm learning photography, I fight mma so I train, I'm a dj and also a music producer/sound engineer! Yes juggling them all can get tricky but if you want it all you can do it!

That is a very good question and I will give you just as a good answer.

I have ALWAYS been passionate about meteorology and cartooning drawing in all my life, as well as photography so it became a routine part of my life.
It's just as well as I'm currently unemployed, so I'm using all this spare time to really improve on those hobbies and making something out of them all.
I can't imagine myself getting bored of it all as I continue to come up with new ideas as well as trying out diffferent methods to make it all work better for me.

I did try to get into other stuff such as computer repairing and learning how software worked, but it turned out to be a bit of a hassle. It was when I became quite proficient at it and when people got wind of it, I found myself doing free computer repairs for other people and ended up not really enjoying it. I didn't have the heart and guts to start charging people for it so got myself out of it before it was getting a bit too involving.

Missed one major thing..... Spending time with the wife-to-be,though I'm not sure she'd appreciate being called a hobby :D

But seriously, it's a shame she doesn't share my interests really as it'd be a nice way to spend time together,

i combine two hobbies of three i have,

the others football (watching), work defo gets in the way of all.

Oh fishing.... Forgot that one! Guess that just went down in my priorities, but then I guess that's the sad thing and why I started this thread!

I've got lots of hobbies, I have a horse whom I ride and do a bit of everything on, I sail with my OH on our dart 18 catamaran (or used to before our little one came along), I make sterling silver jewellery and I have always wanted to get into photography, so here I am! I'm also a part time primary teacher but I am finishing in summer to have a break from it and spend time with my 21 month old son.

Most peoplle say if they won the lottery they'd still work as they'd get bored, but I can honestly say I'm an exception to this.

I've always believed that people generally need something to do, it's just the way we are. But there are about 2.5 million exceptions....

My biggest doable hobby at the moment has become walking the dog despite the horizontal rain. I'll take the face pain quite simply for the peace and quiet.

Photography.
4x4s,
Pitbikes,
Walking,
Camping,
Gym,
Xbox,
My dog:lol:,
Bought lots of fishing stuff but don't know how to fish and dont fish:cuckoo:
and I want a canadian canoe:lol:

Ive been of work for the last 5 months, and apart from the first 2 or 3 when I was immobile, I can safely say Ive rarely been bored.
I have my photography, drums, bass guitar, Xbox, internet, web design and my 4x4. Not to mention getting the garden looking nice. I ve been just driving around aimlessly in the country side the last few days, going down tiny lanes Ive never been down before, just to see whats down them.
It really is nice being able to get up at 9am, pootle around, maybe go out, maybe stay in.

If I won the lottery (not that I play) I'd ditch work faster than a drug dealer ditches his stash when SO19 come knocking.

I'm the same , between ,golf, fishing, photography ,football , my wrought iron ,bit of gardening ,restoring old cars . Just realised I've too many interests. There's not a lot of time to fit it all in .

Yes, motorsport takes up a lot of my time. The fact that I choose to do my motorsport in Hillman Imps or cars using Imp mechanicals means that working on the cars also takes up a lot of my time.

Cracking Common that Brian! Im going to guess at, oo, 36lb? Anywhere near? Hopefully Ive not underestimated too much and its a 50 or something.:gag:

In addition to my earlier post in this that, today for some strange reason I have this overwhelming desire to build a model railway layout, like, right now.
A shame I haven't got the space for it, though.

Hell yes.

Gardening, knitting, crochet, furniture restoration, photography, animals..... I need staff!!!

besides photography and fishing....i've somehow find myself starting prop building. Can't even remember how it started, although I think it was because I had an overwhelming urge to own a stormtrooper helmet (being 38, I grew up with starwars and stormtroopers are still the coolest thing ever)...

Anyway, scratch building my own using pepakura paper templates, resing, fibreglass and plenty of filler. Here's my progress so far.......

Photography, rugby and cycling (MTB and road) At least they used to be my hobbies until I broke my clavical coming off my MTB today! I don't know what I can do now which doesn't require my right arm!

Cool stormtrooper helmet there, antihero!

My own hobbies are music (gigs/festivals, listening, playing guitar/bass/drums/mandolin/keyboards... music has always been my biggest passion), photography (duh), the occasional awful oil painting, life drawing, reading loads and loads and loads of books, watching and collecting films (I have over 700 DVDs/Blu-rays), playing XBox, and last but certainly not least, spending time with all the important people in my life.

Apart from photography, my life is consumed by children, then when they have squeezed every last bit of patience and sanity from me, my wife takes what's left. :D

When I find time, my two passions are gaming and cars. My never ending arcade build project takes up my spare time along with black ops ;)

The rest of this year is a busy one, and I have my fellowship assessment early November, then I will relax as skyrim is released shortly after that :D

Very cool stormtrooper helmet there!!

I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned sitting in front of the tv doing nothing as a hobby, that's one I have plenty of time for!!

Xbox, cycling and photography for me and when MW3 comes out I can safely say the outside world will not see me for a while!!

Also, a lottery win would mean handing in my notice pronto!! NO WAY would I work if I didn't have too!!!

I find I have too much stuff I want to do.
I have photography, I play and write music, produce music and record at home, into gaming, I love reading and also love cycling.
It would be nice to get paid to enjoy hobbies, but unfortunately, the world doesn't work like that.

Well, photography is my living but it can be a hobby too, I keep delving off into specialised areas like painting with light, it's so far away from advertising photography that it isn't photography as I know it.

Then there's my dog, he forces me to take much needed exercise but I really enjoy watching him play, knowing that I can totally trust him with all other dogs/people.

I spend my weekends shooting (mainly clays) but I shoot vermin too - partly the shooting but mainly I think being out in the open air with people that I get on with, in an environment where political correctness doesn't exist.

And, related to shooting in a way, I enjoy off road driving - nothing serious but I like the challenge.

So little time...

Obviously I like photography, mainly of people and abandoned buildings, particularly industrial. I've recently bounced back into it since starting to use film more as well, which is a good thing as it helps get me out.

I also like watching, riding on and taking photographs of trains, and just travelling and having adventures in general.

I lift weights and generally exercise several times a week, and I'd call it a hobby because I enjoy it as well as doing it through necessity to stay healthy.

I used to game constantly but now I only do it a few times a week and for a very short time as my attention span just dies. That's about it really.

Photography and self abuse. Used to play with old cars and Landies but got fed up with them, so now just use more modern stuff, including a year old Royal Enfield motorcycle. Not got he space for a Landy any more - Dad moved away from the house with a big garage and drive to a much smaller place then died - my drive isn't big enough to hold any more vehicles and the garage is full of carp!

update on my trooper bucket...

it's slow going at the minute, but i've got the frown and teeth in and i'm reworking the ears at the minute....

kind of same with time i have had to take a hard choice and give up certain things and do what i can when i can

if i won the lottery i would give up my current job and by the company of my old man and expand it further it has so much potential so that would then be a hobby to me

2nd thing i would do is buy a farm with load and loads of land build a big a$$ fishing pond if not several and have my own part of the lake to fish but would get the father in law to build me a nice big house with purpose built studio

but i just keep dreaming

bucket is now 99% complete.....just waiting for a strip of neoprene to arrive to go over the brow then it's done...
