Edit My Images
No
I fight a constant battle with space on my various HDs, mostly because I struggle to delete RAW files. I often come back from a shoot and do a quick light cull of images, but then I usually keep loads of average of similar compositions with very minimal differences that I think I might want to come back to, but I never do

I am the only one like this or are there a few other hoarders out there?

Any tips to help me free up some space?

Me me me -i have just bought a 2 Terra byte external hard drive to keep my RAWs on

Les :lol::lol:

External drives have never been such good value, compared to buying film and printing they are peanuts.
I have digital images going back to 2002 and it's often surprising how something crops up where one of the older pictures is unexpectedly useful.

With my improved ability and software to process them, even ones which were almost dumped at the time sometimes get resurrected.

I probably suffer from the same malady, I'm trying to be more ruthless, but know I have many from the past where everything was kept. Perhaps I should do a retrospective cull.

Got lots of space just did some HD upgrade, but i do need to do a cull havnt done one for years :)

There's something to be said for developing a self critical/selective mindset, and culling ruthlessly, but they're your images and memory isn't very expensive now. Just keep them if you're more comfortable with this. You can always revisit, and cull the discards at some point in the future, the way many (most?) of us....................don't!

I'm the same have got loads too
It's having the time too go through them all , to be honest though I can't be bothered :D

I'm a ruthless culler of my pics. Although it may be several weeks before I decide what to keep from an outing.

I also go back and bin some of my keepers when i get stuff that I think is better. My aim is to try and get 30 to 50 images of each species of birds etc that I am happy with. If I end up with more that's OK as well.

With landscapes I will keep everything that is half decent because I'm not much of a landscape photographer.

I have at least two (mostly it's three) original copies of every digital picture I've ever taken ... they take up a lot of hard disc and on-line space :)

My working images folder is somewhat smaller as I'm pretty ruthless at culling those that I don't intend to edit. The intention in keeping everything is that I can always go back to them and find something similar to one I've been working on - and I have done that in the past on several ocassions.

I'm not sure if this philosophy is down to me wanting to have access to old files or just me being a horder

yes! i keep everything, appart from blurred images, i have all the same images on 3 PC and 2 external hard drives from when i started photography back in 2004..... its messy! well. folder after folder after folder.....

I'd imagine a lot depends on the type of photography you do. For example things like street photography would tend to have a much lower "keeper" rate than things like landscape where each shot is painstakingly composed on a tripod.

I am a horder of my own images :D

Got totally random rubbish on the drives which makes no sense however when it comes to work I am ruthless and delete anything I don't like 100% haha
