hello all
well as you know i'm new, i have always wanted to do something with photography but wasnt encouraged by my parents, anyway last week was my birthday and for a present my fella bought me a Sony DSC-H3 i know it probably rubbish compared to some of your camera's, but i love it have taken a few pics which i am amazed with the quality, have come here for some pointers, help and advice.
i havent looked too far into it at the moment but i love all kinds of photo's such as landscapes and portraits and also the photo's such as close ups of bugs etc (if you know what i mean)
looking forward to getting to know some of you and learning how to take great pics.

Hi Rach! Nothing wrong with your camera. From what I remember (a mate has one) it's very capable of taking the close-up 'macro' shots you're after.
I think it has manual exposure settings as well (but don't quote me). I would read that section in the cameras manual and get stuck in!

and tommo i will make sure to read that bit in the manual although imone of these people who HAS to read the manual from cover to cover, lol
whereas my fella will just play with the camera until he figures it out.
