Hello people, I'm new in here so just thought I'd say hello.....

Just bought myself a D-SLR for christmas, its a Canon 1000D, base model but I know nothing about photography and am willing too learn. Only bought it as my point and shoot digital camera broke!

What I didn't realise was that I'll need to buy another point and shoot for nights out and stuff as the D-SLR is soooooo large........:lol:

Welcome aboard Chris - looking at digital compacts myself, if i get one it needs to be good the lumix and leica ones look good

Welcome, you have found a great place to learn, I'm constantly impressed with the ability of the people who post here....and how bloody nice they all are.

Once you have used the dslr for a while you wont miss the point and shoot at all.
